The battery is still available in many places but it's the exact same battery that you find in the Coleman Hotwater On Demand. I own a Coleman warranty repair depot and keep many of the batteries in stock.

I don't like to be the bearer of bad news, but it looks like there are no longer replacement batteries available for that lantern. Please see this link for repair parts from coleman. (also possibly here.) There is a customer service number listed at the bottom of that first page that will put you in touch with a Coleman representative, who may be able to suggest an alternative choice for your lantern. Failing that, the only solution I can recommend would be to take the lantern to one of the aftermarket battery suppliers (such as Batterys Plus, etc.) and see if they can provide you with a non OEM version of the battery you need for your lantern to take a charge.
Good luck. I hope you're able to find something.]

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

Does the red light turn green when the retro Coleman 5312 is fully charged?

Read page 3 of the manual.
The red light is on when charging, it does not change colour but goes off when not charging. It will take up to 18 hours to charge for 9 hours of use on low.
12V Lead acid battery should be kept charged all the time, even when in storage.

Delta CL 180 model charger turns on when you plug in and the yellow light comes on but when you put the battery in to charge the lights go out?

If all lights go out after the battery is inserted, the charger has entered pre-charge mode. In approximately 5-10 minutes, the orange and red lights should turn on indicating that fast charge has been initiated. If all lights remain off after 15 minutes, remove the battery. The orange light should glow. Reinsert the battery. If the orange light goes out when the battery is inserted and all lights remain off for 15 minutes the battery should be replaced.

Hope this helps.

Tried to charge my Coleman Retro Lantern, the red light for charging is on but after 24hrs charging, I take the charger off and try to turn the lantern on, it wont work. How can I fix this...

I just bought a retro rechargeable sealed battery, recently. I charged it for 18 hours, the lights all worked, but I don't remember the green light comming on.i put the lantern away for 3 months or so.i decided to check the the battery light out first week of june, the light was there, then I said let me charge it up again, I never seen any green light come on showing it was fully charged. I took the battery out and checked the wires to see if there was a break. None that I could tell. After you take the battery out ,there is another section square that covers where the bulb is located, but I didn't touch that part yet. Stuck" on this one. Help"

What does the flashing red light mean?!?

The flashing red probably means that the charger is working correctly and is indeed charging the batteries. The light should turn green when charging is complete after anything from 1 to 16 hours depending on how this charger works.

Do the following test: Fit the charger with your batteries and connect it to the mains. After 1 hour check if there is a detectable temperature rise in the batteries. You can do this without interrupting the charge cycle by touching the cells with the back of your fingers. If the temperature is still low, let it continue for another 15 hours or so, checking every now & then for any temperature increase. Should the temperature rise more than a few degrees, then stop the charging by removing the charger from the mains. Should the red lamp remain flashing after 16 hours, then I suspect you to have a defective charger.

Coleman rechargable lantern Model 5327A750. Have not used it in a while have left it on charge for over 24 hours. the night light works but the main light does not go on. Replaced the bulb and still...

just read the charging instructions. Charge for 16-18 hours. If stored for more than 6 months recharge for the full 16 hours. Do not leave the lantern on after the battery has stopped, has overdischarging the battery can cause problems in recharging to a full charge. If this does happen, switch lantern to off and recharge for 40 hours.YES 40 hours. Only the LED is the only light to be used while charging. If you hane the other light on hi or low the battery does not charge.

Hope this helps
