I just got a traxxas stampede in dec. i have used it about ten times and now i am having issues when i go to turn it on the green light on the esc comes on and then goes to red and then the light goes off completely. when i go to drive it , it makes a whining noise and sometimes it won't even move i tried plugging the motor directly to the battery and it works fine. please help thanks

All it was that the brushes were dirty, and they were stuck to the motor. The dealer gently used a screwdriver to move the bushes away from the motor a bit and let them snap back in place. Then it worked. I,m such a new R C guy.

Spin the rear wheels and make sure nothing such as a small stone is binding something up in the driveline. Check to make sure the motor has not gotten disconnected from the ESC. If you still have problems with it post again and I will try to look further into it.

If the pinion and spur gears are not touching, the motor can be loosened and adjusted so that the gears mesh. They need to have just a little bit of play between them. If they are to loose the spur gear will get stripped. If they are too tight it puts extra load on the motor and can damage it.

The electronic speed control or motor may have been damaged. These trucks are not waterproof, I would avoid water as best as possible.

If u are running a lipo in the xl5 you have probley burnt the brushes it has happened to me with three titan12t`s. Do not run lipo with the xl5 the titan 12t brushes cant handle the heat the brushes get so hot they just fall out of the brush holder. I have gone threw three titans 12t @ 25$ each save you money and get the brushless upgrade u will love it. Then u can run ur lipo with no worries. Hope this helps.
