Looking for settings to try for my Panasonic TH-50PZ85U to adjust picture settings

  • rodix5 Jul 12, 2008

I need more detailed information on settings I should use, Like what saturation levels I should use on things like Picture, brightness, color, tint, sharpness, color temp, etc. What have your experts come up with that they think are best. All the things they have come up with to get the best picture. What things that are standard settings on the tv that should turned on or off. What setting they feel are best to use to get the best picture. I've been told there is a break in period for plazma tv's - what is it ,and what should I do?

You want to adjust them to what looks best to you. There are many factors like lighting for one. There should be a couple presets to choose from like warm/ cool. It just depends on the kind of lighting. flourescent is more blue. Incandescent is more of a red. Just adjust to personal preference.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Lee

Panasonic plasma t.v. Has a picture and no sound

Make sure the speakers did not get switched to off.

Or from internal to external if it has that feature.

Also see if sound when a DVD etc. is connected to rear av inputs.

If using a box, a receiver etc--unplug them all and wait a short while and plug back allowing all to try to reboot.

If none of this helps you may have a audio problem in the set--most of these sets the entire audio circuit is on the main board but a look inside at where the speakers connect to will answer that.

Following a audible pop TH 50PZ85U will not power on.

Most common thing to happen is a capacitor went bad on one of the circuit boards making the loud POP sound. Odds are it's on the Power Supply Board if the TV isn't showing power at all. The picture below what a bad capacitor looks like.

They range from different sizes and color. Swollen, deformed, and raised top is the thing to look for.

Solder in a new capacitor on the board or replace the whole circuit board.

Need best settings for a Panasonic TH-50PZ85U

As with any display best settings are up to the user.

Some general rules about adjustment of a video display device apply

1. if the display is too bright you would decrease brightness by turning it down
2. if the display is too dark you would increase brightness by turning it up

If a display is too bright it will shorten it's life span so you want to keep the brightness down

Contrast must also be adjusted in the same manor

You should increase color saturation to suit your self

Increasing the color saturation too much will decrease the life of the display and look ugly
so you want to add just enough color to satisfy your taste.
