I have a Sharp LC37D43U TV that has no audio. The volume indicator shows can be moved up or down but no sound comes through the speakers. The picture works fine. I have nothing else connected to the TV. The coaxial cable is plugged directly into the cable wall connection. A couple months ago, a Sharp technician changed some settings and the volume worked again for a short time. Is there a setting that reverts to what seems to put the TV volume on mute?

It appears you ve discovered the sound task levers required to adjustment properties. Your Tv can still move levers even when the volume is set to mute. Select the unmute button before any voice or audio would be reactivated. Assuming that seting the TV on mute has predominant integrety over the volume functions where not unmuting usually with the same button on the remote would not achieve accessibility to the volume functions. refer to the TV user guide for diagnostic audios. Good luck

I have lost my sound from TV through the Bose Lifestyle 48 recently. All other sound sources work fine- DVD/CD, FM/AM.

Hello Sunny,

No TV model... came through with your
Bose LifeStyle home theater question...

I'm just going to mention that I have seen a couple of available configurations... depending on your signal source... BROADCAST, CABLE, SATELITE... (etc.)...

If it is Just your intention to source from the TV...
THERE (at the TV)...
It might be as simple as going into "menu" ... then move down to your "AUDIO" PROFILE.. and make sure your external speaker OPTION is showing "ON" (or "equipped")...

"
on your TV and making sure your PRIMARY volumes sources & destinations (Bose) volumes at acceptable levels... so as to not FRIGHTEN your neighborhood when the sound does come through)

No success ... comment me back with your TV signal source...
HMDI or optical outputs... (and does your AUDIO Work in STAND-ALONE on the TV... Now??)

If all else is working on the BOSE... I don't think we need to continue there...

Comment me back if you need... I'll be around!

Post comments... addendum

(I did say Menu... (twice))...

RESET , General:

**WARNING:
This operation will clear all of your customized settings.

V... depicts the volume down button on your remote
(immediately above the "menu" button).

With the set turned off...Stand in front of TV.

At the right side on the TV set... locate the power
button on the right side...

WHILE holding down the V (on the remote)
Turn on the TV POWER button on the TV.

(The TV will turn itself off, then back on again.)

Then ... V (symbol) Release the button.

**WARNING:
This operation will clear all of your customized settings...

I'll still be here... comment me back... if you need.

Hope it helps

My t v has no volume

Do you see the volume indicator moving when you press the vol up/down?

Could the internal TV speakers have been turned off? This is done when using a sound bar or a AVR (Audio Video Receiver) aka Home theater

Toshiba 36a43 i have picture but no sound. Volume control works but again still no sound.

Things to check:

In menu are speakers (audio area) switched on or off?

If you put sound all the way up and listen right at speaker what if anything do you hear?

If using a cable or sat box is sound turned down on it?

Is sound muted on set or the box (if used)

Do you have sound with a DVD etc hooked via the rear jacks?

A few sets have a slide switch on the rear= internal or external speakers--is it set to internal?

failing all of the above you have a audio circuit problem

Muted my sharp le 810 and now i can't retrieve the sound

If you push the volume button on set does it show on screen?

My guess would be the sound may be turned down on the box or tv or maybe in the TV menu the speakers may be turned off.

Does not sound (pardon the pun) like a circuit repair but like an error.

Check all audio settings or options first in the set and then the box.

We moved our tv from a room with surround sound, and we now have no volume at all on our tv. How do we reprogram the tv?

Hi,

You have to get in the Audio Menu and tell the TV "What You Want". Things are now set-up to operate with an external sound system. You have to set things back to Normal or Default.

Sharp tv no sound turn up screen has fao is on what is that

The FAO that is showing up when you try to adjust the volume because the volume has been turned off to make the TV work with an audio receiver.  The sound was set up on the television to be off so that the sound came out of the audio receiver only.  I don't know your exact model's instructions, but I know on my Sharp instruction if you go to the Menu and then go to Audio Select and make sure FAO is off and Speaker is on.  This should allow you to adjust your televisions volume level.
