The blender coupling on my oster snapped in half. I have the replacement part already I just cannot figure out how to get the broken coupling off the base of the motor. I also got a replacement square drive and slinger because it was so badly rusted it seemed fused to the broken coupling. Thanks so much for your assistance, Sara

10-01-2009 Sara - see solution for rlaymon 1-9-08 "Top part of base broke off" by TanyaCS on 1-20-08 - good ideas. I just fixed mine - 2 hour job + half hour to put a new cord in. Like TanyaCS my broken coupling was rusted to shaft - used WD-40 twice and let sit - meanwhile took out motor and removed fan - kept screws and washers in order on workbench (kitchen counter) - the fan hole is "D" shaped - fan end of shaft also "D" shaped - I filed a "flat" on the other side of the factory "flat" (side of 'D' that is straight) - Used big pliers on broken coupling and adjustable wrench on on the "flats" on fan end of the shaft. Broken end came right off. New cord is 18 gauge extension cord capable of at least 6 amps. Cut off the un-needed end. Or order a replacement cord $4 when you order the rubber drive coupling $4, pin with slinger washer $3. Bet you also need new rubber feet - didn't buy for mine - wish I had. Bert

Where can I get a replacement fuse for my Oster precise blend 12?

Hello, Frances -

Your question landed in the Fixya.com category of Furniture. I re-categorized your question to the Oster Blenders category.

I found the following information regarding Oster blender built in fuses:
(Quote)
The built in fuse protection has kicked in. To turn the blender back on, first turn the control knob to "Off" and unplug the unit from the wall. Then remove the jar from the base and free the blade of any obstructions. Next, press the external resettable fuse button on the bottom of the base. Wait 30-45 minutes for the unit to cool.

Question: My blender shut off during use. What happened?

If you try that possible solution and the blender still does not start, then . . .this is the link to the Oster Contact Us page:
https://www.oster.com/customerservicecontact?cid=contactus

At the very bottom of the page you will find toll free Customer Service phone numbers.

Or . . .

Fill in the form there, asking about the availability of a replacement fuse for your model of Oster blender, so that you can send an email message.

Best wishes.

I'm after replacement parts for my oster versa 1400w blender preferably in australia .

when you order parts it goes by model number, from what I can see there are several different model #'s for the Oster Versa,
BLSTBV-RV0-000 and BLSTVB-000-000.
try here, type your model # in the search area at the top.

or here,

or here, under parts & accessories

I haven't found any where in Australia to get them, you may just have to get them on line.

The drive stud on my vitamix 3600 blender sheared off. When screw is replaced it comes unscrewed when the blender is turned on. Does anyone know if the original design included epoxy weld?

If the motor runs in reverse to an Oster which uses counter clockwise thread then it follows that your thread should not be counter clockwise. If it comes loose when you turn it on surely the thread on the coupling must be faulty because according to your description the action of turning it on can only be to tighten the coupling. Most couplings with a thread that I have seen are counter clockwise so you will probably struggle to find another brand coupling to match.

Locking the jar on the base Oster Fusion 600W Blender

Here is the user manual for the Oster Fusion:

It looks like you line up the threads, place the base on, and twist to tighten.

Replacing rubber drive coupling

My coupler was split in two, and I couldn't screw it off. I had to do the following:
1. Take the blender apart (mine had 2 screws on the bottom). 2. Remove the motor housing from the blender (mine was loose from removing the two screws earlier). 3. Remove the fan by removing the fan nut. 4. Take apart the motor housing. Mine had two machine screws with 1/4" hex heads holding a bracket that tied the two ends together. Once those two screws are removed, you can take the motor out of the housing. Be careful on the fan end of the motor, because it's got two spring loaded brushes that will come together once the motor is pulled through. 6. Once you have the motor out of the housing, you'll have something to grab onto so you'll be able to unscrew the broken coupler. I used a pair of channel locks and gently grasped the motor body, and then just used a regular pair of pliers to grab the broken coupler. It's regular thread (lefty lucy righty tighty), so twist accordingly.
Once you have the coupler off, just put everything back together. The hardest part is holding apart the spring loaded brushes while you push the fan end of the motor shaft back through the motor housing.
Took me about 20 minutes to do everything.
Good luck.
