Their software HomeBase is compatible with all Cobra truck navigation models EXCEPT the model 7700. If you have a 7700 then do not use HomeBase, otherwise you will render your unit inoperable. If you own a 7700 then please call Customer Service at 773-889-3087 for update options.
unfortunately, if you locked you unit and dont remember the passcode, the unit has to be sent in to cobra because they are the only ones that can unlock it. Its an anti theft measure. Their contact number is 1-773-889-3087.
call the cobra customer service at 1-773-889-3087 give them the serial number from your unit and they should mail you a disc that you run on your laptop to reprogram/update your gps, and there should be no charge. so until then your s.o.l
There are no updated maps or software available for that model. So, I need to upgrade to the 5000 gpsm for just a little over $200.00, plus I need to send in the old one. Will receive the new one in the mail 8-10 days.
He fried it. There is a significant difference in other electrical currents in the car from the direct battery. The unit will need to be serviced but shouldnt be visibly damaged from the outside. If it did suffer obvious electrical damage it is likely beyond repair
