Can you buy a thermostat for 4 c. Faberware coffee pots? If so, from what site? I have three that don't keep coffee hot. I know the pots are good but I am tired of buying new ones for the same problem.

First thing you should do is check the washer on the bottom of the pump stem.
Can you buy a thermostat - johnc94.jpg
Check to make sure the washer can move freely (it's not unusual for it to get gunked up. Try putting a flat-blade screwdriver under it and GENTLY prying upwards all around. Spray with a small amount of WD-40, and then run a few brew cycles with just water to get rid of the WD-40. In many cases, this will restore proper operation of the unit.

If not, there are a number of places online from which to purchase replacement parts for Farberware percolators. One is repairshack.com. If your percolators were made before 1998, you'll want the "old style" thermostat, part#P04-056:

If instead they were made after 1998, you'll need the new style, part#P04-303:

What makes a perculator heat?

Hi, If you have a Farberware, Just look into the bottom of the pot. There you will see what looks like a hole in the pot. That is the high heating element, under the pot, when you go to make coffee the pump ( rod) sits into the hole. When you turn it on to make coffee the high heating element that the pump is in gets very hot and starts pushing the water that is in the hole to the top (that is called perking) the hot water goes over the the top and the drops into the coffee, This keeps going on until the thermostat feels it has reached 190 degrees or close to it and turns the high element off. While this is running it's cycle the keep warn is on helping the water to get hot, when the main element is off the keep warm element that runs around the bottom of the pot stays on all the time the pot is plugged in. Should the coffee get to cold the thermostat will turn the main heating element back on until it is back to 190. This system was developed by Farberware and a lot of makers copied it, But Farberware sold the pots and was known for a FAST and HOT cup of coffee. Farberware started making them in China and the pots are having a hard time keeping it up to American standers, and parts are very scarce.Farberware USA pots have been around a long, long time and are still going strong . I hope this helped you to understand how the pot works.

Why does my FCP412 farberware coffeepot not keep the coffee hot?

Only a few months old and when we plug it in it starting making a squealing noise and only got hot water when it finished . Faberware Percolator.

Hi Sharon. ALL Farberware coffee pots make racket. You have a pot that is made in China. When the water is hot the noise stops and it goes into keepwarm mode. As long as your water is hot 175 to 185 it is good. If you were trying to make coffee and you are not perking through the basket is another case. When you want to make coffee you MUST use the cone spring in the pump. That keeps the pump tight so the hot water goes up the pump. With out it the water just boils and does not go through the pump. Good luck. and if you want more info use [email protected] Ron

Coffeepots not operating by not getting hot enough

Hi. Sue, Problem is you're buying China pot's. One of 2 things can cause that problem. The Thermostat or the keepwarm element. 9 out of 10 it is the thermo. The parts are not available in the USA. I have a eBay auction site. I have to make the thermo's out of USA ones. They are 8.00 plus 2.00 S/H. My eBay name is ron622c. If you want to stay with Farberware you can buy a used one or if you are lucky a new one. But don't buy a China one, Good luck. Ron
