My brand new Samsung A597 does not recognize my sim card after I updated my connact list. Tried my old sim card to do the update(Same provider AT&T 3g) and then the one that came with the phone. Phone does not recognize either card. Spent 45 minutes on the phone with AT&T and then 35 minutes with Samsung. Neither could get the phone to work. Any ideas?

I have this phone through Verizon. It does not have a sim card...Verizon phones don't use them. They use a serial number inside to activate the phone.

Your P168+ is not 3g, it will work with att for basic use but you will not be able to benefit from the 3g service.

you need to get the DNS and WAP settings from your service provider. Please call your service provider tell them to send you the settings for your handset which they will send via text message , open the message and save it in your phone
