Flash light will not turn on

a 'flashlight', or a 'flashed light'?

On a vehicle with HID lights, it will be a problem with the ballast or the bulb itself.

With a flashlight, the module has failed.

'year make model' in all vehicle related questions.

'make model (what it is)' in all others, first 3 words in every question.

Why does my 1998 lincoln continental drain the battery, have flickering dash lights, fluctuating power steering assist, and disabled air shock pump continues to run even with switch in trunk off?

Battery drain caused by a short to ground (frame or body) somewhere. Most likely this short is intermittent, which makes the dash lights flicker, similarly the power steering assist. Most likely the trunk switch issue is the "short to ground" . Visually inspect carefully all wiring in near and by the switch, and Air Shock Pump. I like the new very bright Led flashlights for this kind of thing. You may also discover the short by observing the trunk electrical in the dark while the engine is running thus viabration causing the intermittent behavior. You may see flashes from the short (if you are lucky) Otherwise it will take a lot more inspection and checking. Good luck, hope it is the easier to find in the trunk.

What is true about the flash light app for cel phones

Well there are many different flashlight apps that can be downloaded. What is true for all of them, is that if you have a camera with a flash, the flashlight for the camera will be used as a flashlight for the app. if you do not have a camera with a flash, the front screen will be used as a flashlight.

How come flashlights are called flashlights if they don't flash?

In the early days of flashlights, the battery life was very short. So if you needed to use a flashlight, you would turn in on only for a second and then shut it off. Hence, the term flash-light.

Keeps blowing new bulbs

Since this is a simple construction flash light (no electronics) make sure you are installing the correct bulb for the voltage of the batteries.
If you use a bulb that is for a 2 cell (3.0 volt) in a flashlight that takes 4 cells (6.0 volt) the bulb will burn out every time.
