Never replace a 1.5 cell with a 3volt, it will damage the movement...and besides, replacing with a higher voltage will not make it last longer or run 'better'...it only needs 1.5volts to function properly

Best advice right here. Also "the same as the one that is in it".
RepairTJC.comhttps://www.repairtjc.com > Guides Michael Kors use 395 and 371 pretty evenly. We recommend using a quality brand such as Duracell or Renata when replacing the battery of your Michael Kors watch .
Look inside the watch and look for an engraved number near the battery socket. If nothing there, a local jeweler will have a battery that fits the space. Voltage is 1.55 volts, silver oxide are best.
Could be a duff battery - this does happen - even to duracell.
Try another battery - try and get a renata as was originally in the watch. Luminox usually use the Ronda swiss movement - which are pretty bulletproof movements. (i've got 2 Luminox - nice watches, prefer these of trasers)
If you don't get any joy with another new battery - send to the recommended sevice / repairer on Luminox website - prices are not that bad and you can specifiy exactly what you want done so it should not cost the earth - all prices are there to see.

I had the same problem. My jeweler came up with a solution. He "dibbled" the rear of the case just enough that the next smaller Renata battery would fit. You can't tell that he did anything but it worked. Hope this helps.
CTL is the designation for a rechargeable secondary battery. The CR is a primary disposable battery and is a 3 volt cell. The CTL1616 while the same size as the CR1616 function completely differently and are not interchangeable. The CTL1616 is 2.3 volts and is recharged by solar or light or kinetic movement. The CR1616 is 3 volts is not rechargeable and will not function properly in a time piece designed for a 2.3 volt circuit. There is only one manufacturer of the CTL1616, Panasonic and they sell through Casio parts distribution.
i agree, luninox are fairy good water resistant watches and will need to be resealed properly...take to or send to a watch service you trust...dont take to a kiosk is all I have to say
