Pinnacle Dazzle Fusion/Analog video capture (202261597) Video Capture Logo
Anonymous Posted on Jan 08, 2011

When I try and play a VHS for pinnacle video capture for mac software, after a few minutes of recording the video is flickering and lost tracking. This does not seem top happen when I connect the RCA wires to a TV and tune in digital tv channels. Similar thing happens to analog tv signals as well. I have the vcr connected directly to the pinnacle, Should I be using another cable apart from the RCA, like svideo - will that help ?

Thanks for that, I have been looking for a Svideo to RCA and am unable to find it anywhere.
I was going to reply to your help after I tried it, but looks like its not available.

Thanks for that, I have been looking everwhere for an s-video to RCA cable. I would have replied earlier, but wanted to test it out with the svideo and let you know.

When I try to capture a VHS feed, importing from video composite, I get the message saying "no input signal". My VCR is old. Is it possible that this is the cause, or are there other things that I should...

Likely the VCR is unable to function properly anymore, however it would not hurt to check the cables. Some cables when they get old develop shorts in the wires this is also a probable cause. Try new cables first then a new VCR.

VHS Recording

If it came with the Pinnacle software (Pinnacle Studio), that's what you have to use to move your movies from VHS to your PC.

I have pinnacle dvd recorder, in step 1 i dont have the option to select dazzle dvd i only have pinnacle file capture therefore i cant get my vhs to transferr

Hi lloyd_kin466
I'm not familiar with Pinnacle stuff but in any capture software , you need to customize the capture options . Set the system to PAL or to NTSC , select the entry . If you are reading from a VHS device , select " composite " and not TV ... etc ... It should work unless your software hasn't been correctly installed or is not compatible with your OS .

I have a mac and a dazzle dvd recorder. Are they compatible?

Hi patrick,

Looking up the Dazzle DVD recorder, I found this:

System Requirements
  • Platform: Windows Vista / XP
But, Pinnacle who makes the Dazzle does have this info on Mac Video capture:

http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/us/Products/Consumer+Products/Home+Video/Studio+Family/Video+Capture+for+Mac.htm

Hope this helps

Movie playing faster than the speaking

is the video a few seconds faster than the sound. Like you'll see a mouth talking then hear it a second or two later?

Installed software, hooked up dazzle to mac via rca to cable... hook up usb to open imovie on mac... computer does not recognize device or vhs machine... Light on dazzle only comes on when I first boot up...

Hi and welcome to Fixyah,

Did you mean dazzle and hooked it up to your MAC machine. I guess and I understand that you need to install the driver for your MAC OS. Because dazzle can only work with Windows Operating system. Can you please tell me if that device is Pinnacle capture for MAC?

Hi and welcome to Fixyah,

Dazzle DVD for windows can used only if you are windows system but for mac there is no particular driver or even the software to download. The product for MAC is Pinnacle video capture for mac which is the software is already included.

I need a picture of how to hook up the dazzle to the vcr

If your trying to capture from a vcr make sure that the cables "composite are connected at the back make sure it is plug in to the video out.

Next, connect the cables directly to the dazzle.

make sure that the vcr is on and it is playing.

In the program Instant DVD Recorder please go to the step 1 select the dazzle as your video source not pinnacle file capture.

Then click option check the VHS input.
Video input must be composite if your using the composite
Audio input must be the dazzle.

0.008 seconds - no capture, no preview.

Going to the Pinnacle support part of their website in downloads and downloading the latest drivers for the relevant model number worked for me.
