My freezer is working but not at top notch capacity. The refrigerator is definitely not working properly as the spring water, for example, is not chilled. What must I do to resolve this problem? Thank you, kindly. GE Brand

Hi Alexandra. Hey New York? Brrrrr.

The thermostat actually controls the freezer side. The fridge side is controlled with cold air blown from the freezer side. The controls in the top of the fridge box contain the thermostat/switch, and the damper adjustment for the cold airflow from the freezer to the fridge side. Your problem is a blockage of the cold airflow from the freezer to the fridge side.
1. Frost blockage of the passage
2. Fan stoppage on the freezer side
3. stuck or broken damper

Some dampers are just simple movable plastic doors, some are servo/solenoid/motor operated.
Look up your fridge on Sears Parts, and the exploded diagram will help where to find the passage and how it can be blocked.

PSC23NSTESS FREEZING VEGTABLES

Side by Side ModelsIf foods, such as fruits and vegetables, in the refrigerator are freezing, it can be caused by several things. First, check the controls. They should be set at "C" and "5" or "5" and "5". The proper fresh food temperature is between 38 and 42 degrees Fahrenheit. The freezer should be between 0 and 8 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • If food in the bottom of the refrigerator is freezing, this could be caused by a refrigerator not having enough food to absorb the cold air.
  • If food in the door is freezing, move the door bins up or down so they are one notch away from freezer vents (Side by Side models only).
  • The fresh food control should be at the normal setting of 5.
Freezer on Top Models
First, check the controls. They should be set at "C" and "5" or "5" and "5". The proper fresh food temperature is between 38 and 42 degrees Fahrenehit. The freezer should be between 0 and 8 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Since the cold air coming into the fresh food section originates in the freezer above, the rear of the top shelf will be the coldest spot in the fresh food area. Avoid placing delicate items that freeze easily on the back half of this shelf.
  • If food is freezing in the produce (fruits and vegetables) or meat pan, it may be that the temperature controls are not set high enough. Since cold air naturally falls, the pans can get too cold if the refrigerator is not running long enough to maintain good air circulation. Adjust both controls up one notch.

I have a frigidaire top freezer. the model is frt18s6j. there is water collecting underneath the crisper drawers.

Make sure the seals on your doors are in good condition. Also check that the fridge is turned to a correct temperature and not too warm. Also ensure that the freezer is performing as expected as poor performance may indicate a drop in the appliances capacity. Check that the back of the fridge has reasonable airflow around it as this can restrict capacity also.

Freezer is working but freeze is warm .water leaking from the light . i noticed there is little filter next to the light. i raised the temperature but no luck

If freezer is warm though you've raised the temperature, it is a major problem. If you've valid warranty then call the dealer and they'll definitely fix every problem.

If warranty does not covers, then you should call some A/C and Refrigerator mechanic(you will definitely find some in your local area) to fix this.

I am looking for the dimension and capacity of fridge 69852990

Measure Exterior Height & Width and Depth for Dimension.
Interior Space = Then, Measure all open accessible area inside the fridge and add the two together, following the formula of H+W+L Freezer and H+W+L Refrigerator, add together and BAM ya got cubic inches.= Square inches, then divide by 1,728 (the number of cubic inches in a foot (3) Cubed.
Example 1: 60 inches tall, 42 inches wide, 30 inches deep = 75600/1728 = 43.75 Cubic Foot AREA
Example 2: fREEZER dIMS = 24 DEEP x 18 HIGH x 36 WIDE =15552/1728 is 9 CuFt. Refridgerator 36 wide, 36 high 28 deep = 36,288/1728 = 21 CuFt. + 9 CuFt. = 30 Cubic Foot Capacity.

Puddles of water in the fridge

OK that sounds like Ice may be blocking the defrost condensate drain. I will need your model number to help me to identify your model better but can leave you with some information about water leaking inside the freezer or fresh food compartment. Sears use a model number found around your door frame and looks like this for example 312.56989 Be right back with some links, Thanks Sea Breeze
