It means the lens aperture ring isn't locked. Turn it to its smallest setting (largest f/number) and lock it if the ring has a lock. You control the aperture from the camera body, just as you would with a lens without an aperture ring.

If you need a manual, you can download one from

Nikon d50 fee error

Turn the aperture ring on the lens to its smallest setting (largest f/number) and lock it. You control the aperture from the camera body, the same was as with a lens without an aperture ring.

Have lighting strike symbol on camare n60 [email protected]

This lightning strike depending on where you are seeing it is either showing you the button to push for the internal flash to pop up or it's telling you that flash is required for the camera setting you have chosen. If the lightning strike is an icon on the camera body it will be beside a button that's for an internal flash. If you see this in the viewfinder or screen then the camera is letting you know that the scene is going to require flash.

Fee error, Nikon N60

Are you using a Nikon "d" lens? on my D70 Fee means that the lens apeture is not set to minimum. If you have an apeture ring, set it to minimum.

When turned on it flashes FE E and I can't take an exposure. Help!

FEE means that you have failed to turn the lens aperture ring to the minimum setting. This is essential on your model as it controls the aperture settings via the command dial on the body.

If you have already set the lens to the minimum aperture (minimum=highest number) then please report back with a comment for additional options and state whether the problem is with all lenses or just one.

If I have solved your problem then please let me know by taking a moment to rate my answer.

What does FEE mean?

Typically that message it to let you know the lens is not communicating with the camera. The aperture ring on the lens needs to be set to the highest f-stop number, i.e. f-16, 22, 32. The dial on the camera allows you to control your aperture setting rather than the phyical ring on the lens.

My Nikon N60 35 mm camera shows the fEE message

Your lens is not set to the smallest aperture (highest number). Turn the camera off, rotate the aperture ring so the largest number is lined up with the mark on the top, push the aperture lock tab, and turn the camera back on. The aperture ring is the one closest to the camrea body with numbers like 4, 5.6, 8, 11 etc on it. The largest number will be 16, 22, or 32 for most lenses.  If it still doesn't work, turn off, remove & replace the lens, and recheck the aperture ring setting.

Nikon N 60 has a problem - FEE appears in window and camera will not shoot

I just fixed this problem on my Nikon... It is very frustrating when this happens!
First the issue is on your lens itself. Make sure the ring closest to the body of your camera is set to 22, it should be in red while all the others are white. This will fix your problem!

Nikon N60 fEE Issue

First of all, you can download a manual from here.

Basically, with certain types of lenses you need to set the aperture ring on the actual lens to its minimum setting (f22 or f32). Once it is set here, the camera can then control the aperture. It's covered on page 16 of the manual.

Hope this helps,

Matt
