I up loaded some files (from a PC) and I can not play them back on the recorder. The display does not show any new files on any folders. When I hook the recorder back to my PC it shows the files and it can even play them. How can I listen to the up loaded files on the recorder?

I had the same problem. I downloaded the instruction pamphlet at http://www.olympus.co.jp/en/support/imsg/vtrek/download/manual/ws/man_ws100_ws200s.pdf and reformatted the recorder. It seems to work fine now.

can't record on the my Olympus VN-1000
+ I press rec button and it just shows rec in display (no recording time is shown ONLY rec)
+ there is no play back or stop function
+ i can only stop rec by removing batteries (stop or play will stop rec only ONCE - but there is no useful function - such as play or stop or rec.)
+ I tried all trouble shooting tips in manual with no effect
+ i cleaned the spring contacts inside battery compartment that interface with the batteries
+ it was barely used - and has not been used for a 1 year ( no batteries were inside it )
it was inside a drawer
THANK YOU
I think I know your problem, but if it doesn't work I'm sorry. I'm not the best when it comes to technology. Don't play it while you're erasing and hold down the erase button 'til you here a beep. I hope this works.
