I can think of some actions to play with (in case you haven't already taken them, that is):
1) on your phone, go to 'Start > Settings > Connections tab > USB to PC' and toggle the 'Enable advanced network fucntionality' checkbox, i.e. it it is checked, uncheck it; otherwise, check it. Try to connect. Then, restore that setting to its original value and try again;
2) For security reasons, backup your PIM first (you could just copy file 'pim.vol' on the root of your phone to your SD card, to be copied back to the rooot of your device later). Then, delete the sync partnership, both on your phone and your PC. and try to set it up all over again;
3) You could try to uninstall and reinstall WMDC on your computer.
Really hope you are able to sort your problems out. Anyway, please, let me know if I can help you any further.

Regards,
Carlos

Activesync for windows 7

ActiveSync is only compatible with Windows XP.
With Windows 7 you will have to use Windows Mobile Device Center.
Connect your phone to your computer and Windows 7 will automatically download and install WMDC for you.
Or dowonload it from here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsphone/en-us/howto/wp6/sync/installing-wmdc.aspx

Need to upgrade sofware to a windows 7 system at home and sony doesn't offer support the sony clie sj30 pda. Can you help me?

Windows7 doesn't use activesync it uses Window Mobile Device Center to sync with mobile devices (only running microsoft software)
Your PDA runs on Palm OS4.1 so W.M.D.C. is not an option

Palm desktop 6.2 may be your only hope, some people have managed to get it to run with Windows7.
here is the link to the 6.2 download with notes

I want to upgrade ma htc pro 2????can you please help me

  1. Go to Aadress http://www.htc.com/us/support
  2. Choose your Phone from list
  3. Download the upgrade
  4. Install it using USB cable connection with your computer (Windows mobile sync must be installed so your computer can regonize it.)
  5. How do I install Microsoft ActiveSync/Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC)?

Insert the "Getting Started" CD that came with your device into your PC and follow the prompts.
Note: The disk will detect what operating system you have and what sync software you have loaded. If you already have ActiveSync installed on your PC, it will not give you an option to install it from the disk (same for WMDC) until it has been removed from your PC.

  6. The phone reboots after install.

  7. And done

I need htc touch viva driver

Drivers are included with the microsoft software you use to sync eg.
Windows Mobile Device Centre. WMDC.
Or
Microsoft active sync.

You can get 32 bit version of WMDC ...HERE... 64 bit ...HERE...
and Microsoft Active Sync 4.5 ...HERE...

Although Microsoft seem to be having issues with the connection of HTC's to their software and their help department doesn't appear to be much help.

If you already have the software installed. Try uninstalling and downloading fresh copies and re-install.
Also make sure you clear your partnerships in your phone as HTC only allow 2 sync partnerships.

How i connect to pc my HTC S 710 Mobile?

If your PC has Windows XP, you should have ActiveSync installed and running, in order to have a WM smartphone synchronized. Otherwise, if it has Vista or 7, WMDC should be used instead.
If you already happen to have the correct sync program on your PC, and yet, are unable to sync your device, firstly, reboot both your PC and device. If you keep unable to sync, try to remove the partnership between your PC and your device on both of them, and try to connect your device again. If the failure persists, try to uninstall and reinstall ActiveSync (or WMDC), reboot your PC and try again.
Hope you are able to sort your problems out.
Cheers! Carlos

My home desk top says this UBS device attached to this computer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognized it and calls the device unknown.

Firstly, reboot both your PC and PDA. If they keep failing to connect, delete the partnership between them, both on your PC and PDA. If they keep refusing to connect, remove ActiveSync (for WinXP) or WMDC (for Vista & 7) from your PC and reinstall it.
Hope you are able to have your device synced soon.
Cheers! Carlos

In your phone go to START-Settings-Connections-USB to PC. When there choose ActiveSync and make sure that "Enable advanced..." isn't ticked. Then open WMDC and end partnership. Restart PC open WMDC and do new partnership.

First sync your Nokia with PC. In settings choose either Contacts or M$ outlook, whichever you using. Then install ActiveSync 4.5(for Win XP) or WMDC(for Vista) and again in settings choose one of above mentioned programs to sync, ie Contacts or M$ outlook.

HP iPAQ 4150 battles Vista -- HELP

The Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center requires that the first sync be made via the USB sync cable. After the h4150 is plugged into the Vista machine, the WMDC opens and prompts you through setting up a partnership. Then you can set the h4150 to sync via Bluetooth.

ActiveSync works fine with Vista. Ignore that other guys post.
