SOURCE: ICE MAKER NOT WORKING

Yes, the ice maker controls the water valve. First check that there is water in the ice maker trays. If there is your valve is not the problem. If not, loosen the fitting on the water line that leads to the water solenoid valve. If you do not find water, check your manual valve that taps into the main water line. If you do have water, it may be that the water inlet above and behind your ice maker is frozen. You can thaw it out with a hair dryer and see if that is the problem. If this model dispenses water through the door, you can find the water solenoid valve behind the unit near the floor and reverse the two plugs on the solenoids. Place a paper towel in the water inlet tube that channels the water into your ice maker. Close the coor and press the water dispenser for 3 seconds. Open the door and see if the paper towel is wet. If it is, the water solenoid is fine. You can also remove the front of the ice maker and put an insulated jumper wire between the T and H test points to see if the unit ice maker will go through its cycle.

SOURCE: Ice maker not working

It's possible that the tube that supplies water to the ice maker is blocked with ice (freezer temp. too cold) and not allowing water to get to the Ice tray.
You can squeeze the tube to see if it's iced, and if so you can melt the ice with a blow dryer and adjust your freezer temp. to the manufacturer's suggested setting and work from there.
I have seen this happen, but there are other problems such as just a broken ice maker too.
Good luck.

SOURCE: Ice maker overflows with water

yes, in fact the icemaker does meter the amount of water delivered to the icemaker, the valve should only be energized for 7 seconds. after that the power is cut off, so if valve continues to let water flow, it's bad (might have debris from water line keeping it open. unserviceable. )

Whirlpool ED5VHEXVQ03 side by side. Ice maker is not making ice. Checked water line - okay. Checked water valve - okay. Water filling tray - okay.

Whirlpool Ice Makers are about the hardest working part on your refrigerator and their average life is about five years. You can fill the tray with tap water if the ice slots are already empty and let the water freeze. If after the water freezes and the ice drops to ice bin then the water control valve.

Click Here=> 4389177 Water Inlet Valve will need replaced. You mentioned the water is filling the tray OK then my focus would be on the ice maker.

Ice maker is no longer working

If you have ice in the maker but none in the bin then the maker is bad. If you have no ice in the maker then the water valve is bad. If the temp is 28 or below in the freezer then the ice mold thermostat will close contacts and harvest a batch of ice IF their is ice in the mold. All Ice makers are not built the same. But they all work the same. The ice maker thermostat gets to harvest temp then the motor and heater are activated to commence harvest. Very near the end of the harvest around 7 seconds of water is applied to the mold to start a fresh batch. I always say if you are not sure go ahead and replace the water valve first. If it turns out yall need a new maker then you already have a new water valve to match it.

Ice maker will not refil with water.

The ice maker and the water valve are in cahoots. It is just them 2 that control the water to the ice mold. The cheapest component to replace is the water valve. If indeed it turns out your ice maker itself has gone haywire then you already have a new water valve to match it. Logically the thing to do first is replace the water valve. Note: If your ice box uses a water filter it might not be a bad idea to replace it also when replacing the water valve.

Kenmore side by side. No water getting to the ice maker. Water in the door works fine. Have already replaced the filter.

Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. It’s on the back where the water supply comes in. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze blocking the fill tube.. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

Water is not going into icemaker

Their are 2 possible things wrong. The water valve or the ice maker. Nothing else in the ice box determines water fill but the ice maker itself. Since the water valve needs to be replaced when you buy another ice maker( their is no way to repair an electronic ice maker) I say replace the water valve first and see if the ice maker starts working. Then if you have to get a new ice maker you already have a new water valve. First before you do anything stick a thermometer in the freezer and verify the temp is below 25F. An ice maker will not function if the temp is over 25F in the freezer.

Neff K3990 American style fridge ice maker is not producing ice

The ice maker unit give the command to the water valve to relese water for a short time.
you cna check with volt meter on the water volve that got the pip go to the ice maker unit if it getting 120V for short time when the fingers of the ice maker making full round.
if you get 120v the problem is the valve (the ice maker and the water have difrent water path so its difrent valve used) if you dont get 120v or the fingers of the ice maker not turning then its your ice maker unit need to be replace.

I hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!
