I have an LG TV with an LG HOME CINEMA SYSTEM problem is: watch dvd/blue ray - video fine sound fine (through speakers) watch tv / sky -- video fine sound None throughspeakers on HC System connected as follows HDMI lead from sky box to TV HDMI INPUT HDMI lead from Home Cinema to TV HDMI INPUT then I have tried connecting an OPTICAL AUDIO cable between a) The TV audio output to optical input on home cinema b) Between the sky box and optical connection on home cinema Trying both these makes no difference to sound loss

Hello,
There are two things that I can suggest.
1-Test your optical cables to make sure they a good on a known working source because they are very fragile and break very easily.
2-Try to eliminate the use of optical output from tv to receiver. There may be a problem from the HDMI to optical conversion at the tv. Instead, try running the audio directly from the source to the receiver, and let the tv deal with video input only.

One of the way to connect the whole system is using only HDMI cable version 1.3a. There is audio return channel built into the cable.So you do not have to connect the optic cable.
Sky box to TV using HDMI
LG HT805 to TV using HDMI. Even the Sky box audio will come back to the LG-HT through the audio return path.

Hi, Ive tried to set up my samsung blue ray
It seems as though the HT works fine, so to get the TV itself to play through the HT setup, take the audio out from the TV and hook it up to a separate channel on the HT receiver. Turn on TV and receiver and put the receiver on the respective channel of the receiver. I hope this helps.

No picture on TV through Sky, Home Cinema is on but have sound.
do have sound and picture at same time you will need a fibre optical cable, you connect that from your cinema system to your tv. then you need to set your cinema system to digital input or fibre optic or check by pressing aux on your remote and see which is the right one. i am not familier with panasonic as i have samasung.

CAN ONLY GET THE SURROUND SOUND TO WORK WITH DVD'S NOT WITH NORMAL TV OR SKY?? WHY??
You should have a AUDIO menu in which you can simulate true surround sound. This should be in your owners manual. Your DVD is recorded in dolby surround sound that's why on your set it will be reproduced as recorded. I hope Samsung is using a ATSC tuner in that model?
