Hi,
It is safety switch, however you can bypass it on temporarily to test tv.
You need to solder blue and white wires with little wire to make connection as shown in below image, check red line to solder extra wire to make connection.
Hope this will help you.
Thanks.
If you are speaking of a small switch that detects when the TV's access panels are open, yes you can bypass this switch by simply pushing a metal pin through both of the wires leading to it. This will effectively close the connection, fooling the TV into thinking the cover is on.
If the switch is some kind of surface mounted device, you will have to follow the traces on the board from the switch to the nearest solder pads and solder a small jumper wire between them.

If there are only two wires going to that, the blue and the white, then yes. Stick a small metal pin, like that used for holding fabric together while sewing it, through the centers of each wire. The pin will push through the rubber insulation and into the copper strands in the wire, making a nice connection. Once your pin is going through both wires, test it to make sure it works, then wrap the pin with some electrical tape. You might want to clip the sharp tip off too.

Kenji,
I have attached a pic of the chip and wire. I also have one of the switch itself but wont fit on this post. If you do have an e-mail, I can send you pics of exactly what I'm looking at. When you say stick a pin into both wires, do u mean thru the attached blue and white cable? Could I use a safety pin or sewing needle? Will that close off the connection? I've been at this all day and I hope to be finished soon. Your help is much appreciated.
Thank you for assistance. You're advice helped me fix this problem and now I have a TV again!
