I turned on my computer and logged into windows no problem. Left for about 20 mins and came back to nothing. The power light was on but I could not get it to do anything and it would not turn off according to the light. So I unplugged it and tried to plug it back in and got nothing. Does this mean my power supply is dead.

The only real way to testa power supply is to replace it with one known to be working and of a similar wattage, this will tell you if this is the problem.

Corolla shuts off during left hand turns and hard stops

Wow. These are tough to find unless you are willing to roll the car up on it's right side and then check the power to the system. ..
Look for loose connections going through things that might move or the wires connected to the starter (sometimes the power wire is connected to the battery line at the starter solenoid).
Could also be at the ignition switch.

How to log off

If you log off you only close your user session under windows, not turn off the computer.

If you suspend you turn off almost everything in the laptop like hardwire, cd or dvdrom and most peripherals but the computer stays on the consuming power.

If you hibernate what windows does is to store all in memory in a temporary file in the hard drive and turn off all the computer so when you turn it on again it will be as you last session with all your programs and documents you left open.

And if you turn off the computer it will close all your programs, close windows and turn off all the hardware.
