First thing should be to make sure the top selector switch is not set to the optional Pizza element.

Make sure the power to the unit is OFF. Also keep in mind that the following tests should be done by a qualified appliance specialist. To find one near you, contact the La Cornue Service Center @ 877-522-6768

Is this the first time using the oven? If so, make sure the overall power to the range is 240 volts. This can be checked at the main terminal block.

If your model has three indicator lights and the red light is illuminated, then it is likely the hi-limit thermostat has tripped and you will need to reset it. The reset switch is located underneath the cycling thermostat. To access this, you will need to remove the front fascia. Please note: The original safety thermostat is no longer available. Use current safety thermostat (reference: 06ELTS01). If your model has only two indicator lights and the red light is illuminated, that means the oven is heating up. If the red light is not illuminated when the thermostat is set at the desired temperature, then check the hi-limit thermostat.

Power relay/contactor on the back of the unit should be checked. It

How do you adjust the temperature on this model

Adjusting the temperature on your oven model is a straightforward process. First, turn the oven on and press the "Temperature" button until you reach the desired setting. If you have a manual dial, turn the knob until it reaches the desired temperature. Once this is done, the oven will heat up to the desired temperature and will beep when it's done. As an added safety measure, it's important to ensure that the oven is not set to an excessively high temperature as this could cause a fire. Additionally, be sure to open the oven door occasionally to allow some of the heat to escape, which will help to keep the temperature consistent. Finally, for optimal results, it's important to regularly check the temperature with an oven thermometer to ensure accuracy.

Viking gas oven won't shut off

It sounds like you are experiencing an issue with your Viking VGSC486-6Q gas oven where the gas continues to flow and the oven continues to heat even after the desired temperature has been reached. This can be a dangerous issue, as it can cause the oven to overheat and potentially start a fire. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check the oven sensor: The oven sensor is responsible for measuring the temperature inside the oven and sending a signal to the control board to adjust the gas flow and heat as needed. If the sensor is not functioning properly, it can cause the oven to continue heating even after the desired temperature has been reached. You can try cleaning the sensor with a dry cloth and making sure it is securely connected to the control board.
  2. Check the control board: The control board is responsible for receiving the signal from the oven sensor and adjusting the gas flow and heat accordingly. If the control board is faulty, it can cause the oven to continue heating even after the desired temperature has been reached. You can try resetting the control board by unplugging the oven and plugging it back in, or you may need to replace the control board.
  3. Check the gas valve: The gas valve is responsible for regulating the flow of gas to the oven. If the gas valve is faulty, it can cause the oven to continue heating even after the desired temperature has been reached. You can try cleaning the gas valve and making sure it is securely connected, or you may need to replace the gas valve.
If none of these steps help resolve the issue, it may be necessary to have the oven repaired by a professional. It is important to address this issue as soon as possible, as it can be dangerous to use an oven that continues to heat even after the desired temperature has been reached.
