I've read online that upgrading to the latest firmware sometimes
resolves this issue. That's kind of shooting in the dark though - I
personally would not feel completely confident that a FW flash would
actually resolve the issue (as it could still be lurking beneath
somewhere, waiting to surface again). If you have no warranty, then
the FW flash is not a bad option. It's relatively easy and virtually
impossible to screw up!
Another option is to order a replacement (new or used) main power board, and swap it into the TV (or pay someone to do it). It seems the power circuit board is a common culprit for this issue. If you're a do-it-yourselfer, then open up your TV and see if you can tell which component is failing, then hit eBay for a replacement:

However, if you're still under warranty, then I imagine you've figured out by
now that your best bet is to contact Sharp to fix this issue. Mine was
luckily under the extended (15-month) factory warranty when this started happening to me. I was 13+ months out from date of purchase. Sharp
support confirmed a tech needed to come out for an all-day appointment
to troubleshoot the TV (I have the monstrous 65" Aquos). Thank goodness for the extra 3 month warranty
I got when signing up for the Aquos Advantage club! Otherwise, my
$3400 investment might have cost me at least $700-$800 to stay online - only ONE
year out from purchase! If I would have known about the frequency and common nature of this problem, I would not have hesitated on buying the additional 3-year protection during my first year as an owner. Now I know to research product defects a bit more before opting out of a warranty for a multi-thousand dollar purchase!
In any case, I'll post the root cause of my issue (same symptom - OPC and power lights flash three times, then pause, and repeat indefinitely until TV is unplugged), once the Sharp tech leaves my place this coming week. Keep in mind that my root cause may not be the same as yours, even though the error codes are the same. :)
Good luck with your issue!
