Hello brocstar,
You could have a problem either with the power cord itself or the DC input jack on your GPS.
When you say you wiggled the "power lead" to fix the problem I believe you are referring to the actual power cord. If so, it's possible that the cord has a short that has progressively gotten worse and eventually caused the cord to fail. In that case it should be a relatively simple fix to simply replace the power cord and that's where I would start.
If replacing the power cord doesn't work then the problem likely is with the GPS itself and the unit may need factory service to repair the DC jack, battery or charge circuitry.

I can not recharge my NAV MAN the message on the screens says, that it can not connect to power supply even though the unit is on charge. I have also used another charger to see if I can isolate the problem.
I don't really know how to solve this problem.
