Hello brocstar,

You could have a problem either with the power cord itself or the DC input jack on your GPS.

When you say you wiggled the "power lead" to fix the problem I believe you are referring to the actual power cord. If so, it's possible that the cord has a short that has progressively gotten worse and eventually caused the cord to fail. In that case it should be a relatively simple fix to simply replace the power cord and that's where I would start.

If replacing the power cord doesn't work then the problem likely is with the GPS itself and the unit may need factory service to repair the DC jack, battery or charge circuitry.

Hope this helps,
Ken

My inspiron 1525 is not charging. Have replaced battery and charging lead and still does not charge.

Based on what you have stated, you replaced the battery and charging lead but the laptop still won't charge. What do you mean by charging lead?
Are you referring to the power adapter?

Since you already changed those two things, then the problem could be the power jack of the laptop and/or the connections inside the laptop.

Try to plug the power adapter slowly and try to wiggle it. It you feel that the power jack is wiggling, then the problem is a loose power jack that is why it won't charge. And you need to have a tech tighten that up for you.

Have a great day!

Navman icn 720 gps will not power on

Poss that the battery is totally dead, and therfore will not power up even when on ac or 12v charger lead. Often the battery is part of the circuit, and if the battery is dead rather than just weak or discharged, then the circuit is incomplete.

I posted on here how to remove the battery, you can get a replacement quite easily. Also would be an idea to search out a correct output charger, or maybe borrow one just to determine if the problem was with the battery rather than a blown unit.

Good Luck
