I have a dell inspiron 1521 laptop and i have a SD card that i want to use with the computer. there is a slot where it says SD on the laptop, but when that slot came open the SD card was too small to fit in the slot. the SD card i am using is a LG Mirco SD card

    can't you just put data on it straight up(Micro SD), with a usb connector going from thephone to your laptop

You will need to put the micro card into an adapter first before it will fit in your SD slot. This what it will look like.

Hello oliver.... Take your laptop into any radio shack or other computer store and get an adapter that your card will slide into and which in turn will slide into your slot. OR get a DELL Inspiron 1521 All in One Memory Card Reader (18 in 1). This All in One USB 2.0 memory card reader is compatible with all types of the memory cards such as SD card, CF Card, xD Card,Sony etc.

there is no best. unless you stated.
what it is to be used for.(application, job, what?)
1: works (sure they do) but some huge ones do not work on really old PC or camera's.
2: or speed.

You will need an adapter. Probably a USB to SD Card reader.

Put the memory card into the card reader slot, open computer and find the drive with the card in. Double click the drive and that should open up the memory card files.

My computer does not read micro sd slot.
Go to device manager ( through control panel) and check if the sd slot reader is disabled. If so, enable it. If not, maybe the SD card is bad. Try another card. If the card is not bad, you may want to take the laptop to a computer technician or call DELL technical support if it is under warranty.

You could also purchase an external SD card reader from walmart or bestbuy and use that.

SD card reader not working. I put my SD card in and I was trying to open it and see what files are inside of it but it say that I need to insert a disk into a Secure digital storage device (F:)
The best option is to reinstall the card reader drivers.
I am very sure it will resolve the issue.

No. This Delll is considered a "budget" laptop with no frills; however, it has a ExpressCard 34 slot that can accommodate a card reader.
Griffin is a popular brand that supports every flavor of SD.
Also, of course, a large number of USB card readers are available at your favorite electronics / office supply store.

How can i use sd/mmc memory card reader on my laptop? ia am using dell inspiron 1525 model?
The SD/MMC memory slot is already configured to read standard and HDSD cards. Just remove the DELL blank from the slot by pushing it in until it clicks and release it. Then pull it out. Insert the SD/MMC card into the slot and push it in until it clicks. The DELL Blank is shorter than an actual SD/MMC card, so don't try to push the SD/MMC card any further than the 'click'. Remove by pushing in until it clicks, release, remove.
