Two separate remote controls will not turn TV on/off. Each has new batteries and operate other components properly. Only the TV will not turn on with the remotes. Once the TV is on, no other functions will work with the remote either. TV will turn on/off with the power button on the TV. TV will operate correctly using the buttons on the TV. I have also made sure the sensor on the front of the TV is clean. Still no luck.

Why Am I Unable To Program The RCA Remote Control To Operate My Components

Why am I unable to program the RCA remote control to operate a component? Why am I unable to program the RCA remote control to operate a component? If you are unable to program the remote control to operate a component, review the following information:

Compatibility
If none of the programming procedures work, the universal remote control may not be compatible with your components, based on the type of infrared technology and the age of the components. Some RCA universal remote controls will only work with components manufactured after 1990.

Distance
If you are testing the remote control after you have entered a code, you may be too far away from the component or you may not have the remote control aimed directly at the component. Because the remote control uses infrared (IR) technology to communicate with components, there must be an unobstructed path between the remote control and the IR sensor on the component.

Code Entry Methods
If the Direct Code Entry method was used to enter the codes for your brand and the unit is still not functioning properly, try one of the automatic code search methods instead. During automatic code search, the remote searches for the correct code to program.

Modes
For the remote control to know which component you wish to operate, you must put the remote control in the correct mode by pressing the corresponding component button.

Combo Units
To program the remote control to operate combo units, such as TV/VCR’s, TV/DVD’s, or TV/VCR/DVD’s, use the combo codes in the Code List to program the individual corresponding component buttons. Once programmed successfully, the TV button controls the TV functions on your unit, and the DVD or VCR button controls the DVD or VCR functions, respectively. The codes in the combo section should be tried first, using the Direct Code Entry method on the TV and DVD or VCR buttons. If this is unsuccessful, use one of the Code Search methods to program your combo unit.

Batteries
Make sure the batteries are new and properly installed.

Can't seem to switch to input with the remote or go to any channel to use my DVD player

Hello

Check first if the Remote Control hanset emits infrared rays or not. Infrared rays are invisioblw to us. There is an easy way to check it. if you have a cellphone with camera option, set it to camera mode, and place the remote hanset against its lens about 1 feet away or so, and press each button on the remote control. You can see the infrared indication on the screen of your cellphone.
If it is Ok, just reset the remote control.

You might need to reset the remote: remove batteries and press the number 1 button for at least 60
seconds. Release the 1 button, replace the batteries, and (if necessary) program the remote again.

Check also for

Something might be between the remote and the remote sensor on the component. Make sure there is a

clear path.

• Maybe the remote isn't aimed directly at the component (DVD, TV, VCR) that you're trying to operate.

• Maybe remote is not in TV Mode. Press the TV button so remote will control TV.

• Maybe batteries in remote are weak, dead, or installed incorrectly. Put new batteries in the remote. (Note,
if you remove the batteries, you may have to reprogram the remote to operate other components.)

How to Use the Remote Control to Complete

the Initial Setup

The technical term is "Navigation"- how you move through the

on-screen menus. The method is the same throughout the menu

screens: highlight your choice and select it.

To highlight a menu item, press the arrow buttons on the remote

to highlight one of the items listed on the screen. Use the up or

down arrow button to move up or down. Use the right or left

arrow button to move right or left.

To select the item that you've highlighted, press OK.

Note: Highlighted means that the menu item stands out from other
menu items on the list (appears darker, brighter, or a different color).

Turn on the TV

Press TV on the remote, or press POWER on the TV's front panel.

Note: Pressing the TV button not only turns on the TV, but puts the remote

into TV mode. "TV mode" means that the buttons on the remote control

operate the TV's functions.

Complete the Initial Setup

The menu system in your TV allows the TV's features to work

properly. The first time you turn on your TV, the SETUP screen

appears with Language highlighted. The default language is

English. To choose another language, press the right arrow
button on the remote.

If these doesn't work, the infrared sensor inside your Tv has got damaged and should be replaced. OK.

Won't change channels. Batteries are fine.

The remote does not operate your component?
  • You must put the remote in the correct mode by pressing the corresponding component key (TV, VCR•DVD, SAT·CBL) so the remote knows which
    component you want to operate.
  • Remove any obstacles between the remote and the component. Make sure to aim the remote at the IR sensor on the component.
  • Make sure the batteries are fresh and are properly installed. (See Battery Installation on page 3 of the User Manual). Replace the batteries with two new AAA batteries, if necessary. Reprogramming may be required.
  • Reset the remote. Remove the batteries, then press and hold the number 1 key on the remote for several seconds to reset the microprocessor inside the remote. Release the number 1 key, reinstall the batteries, and press the ON·OFF key. If the LED indicator light turns on, reprogram the remote and try again. If it doesn't light up, replace the batteries with new ones.

This and other details can find in the troubleshooting-the-rca-rcr350-universal-remote-control

I hope this help to solve it (remember to rate this answer) Good luck,
