I have the Kenmore Elite HE5t Steam washer. The suds light comes on followed by the F35. Manual was little help. We will do numerious rinse and spins and then run a normal cycle w/out soap but this goes on for quite awhile. Usin HE soap too, This is not happening consistantly but can stop washing for a day or two.
What does the F35 tell us? Additional thoughts?
Thanx,
Joe

They can and fixed my washer today! The fix was the replacement of a switch. The item # was W10156252 for my washer. It is called a switch-WL. Item # may be different for your model. I was getting SUDS and F35 errors. To install it you just remove the top part of the washer and should be located at the upper right-hand side, attached to a black hose. The switch has a small computer board. The price of the swith is around $130. Fortunately I bought a 3-year warranty on my washer.
I got the f35 and suds code repeatedly and my clothes weren't washed, I ordered from Sears the analog pressure switch that regulates the water coming into the washer and the codes went away, the part is esitmately $125.00 including shipping but you have to order from the Sears parts department. If you print a diagram of the washer it is #38 in the diagram and is easy to replace. You can install it yourself and as a female I did not call service to do it.
SUD means there are too many soap suds in the washer. Are you using a front load approved detergent? Are you using the correct amount? or slightly less is better.
Sometimes the SUDS/F35 is because of TOO MUCH detergent. To clear you have to set the cycle on rinse and then keep pouring cups of water into the detergent container as the cycle is going. You might have to do this a few times because if the SUDS message comes up the water flow will stop. Just unplug and try again. Also when the detergent container is finally clear you will see the little rotators gears move around when the cycle starts.
I also got the SUDS error followed by F35 many times. I replaced the analog water level switch, Wirlpool part number W10156252, and the problem went away. The part is located against the back right corner of the top of the washer after removing the top cover. The part cost $62.99 + $12.95 express shipping from ApplianceZone.net. I have the Kenmore HE3t Steam Washer, model number 110.46752 700 front loader. I was able to run about 6 loads of laundry by unplugging the washer, waiting about 5 minutes, the re-plugging and re-starting the washer. Thereafter, the problem became permanent. I always used HE detergent. The washer was purchased new in December 2007, and the I made the repair in September 2009. I spent about $1300 for the Kenmore H3t Steam Washer, and I am disappointed that it required repair after less than 2 years. My mothers old Maytag washer lasted more than 15 years, and was not susceptible to soap SUDS.
suds is determined using the level sw located on top right rear side. remove top cover to see. most letter codes do convert to a f code. most common reason for suds error is use of standard detergent or too much detergent. running a empty load of fabric softener can clean the system. or rinse/spin with nothing. other common problem is this is a whirlpool product.
