If the headset is a wireless one there is a button on the headset itself you need to press to pick up or hang up a call. alternativly look for a headset or pick up button on the phone needs to be pressed. this i diffulcult to answer further without knowing the model of your headset.

download user manual for the phone at the following
http://www.tc.mtu.edu/voice/equipment/Mitel5220/5220userguideR4.0.pdf
check page 23 regarding using heaset.

when the phone rings press the headset feature on your phone and then select the ringing line button.
then press cancel to hang up.

I hope this was useful.

Front inputs? (green and pink not working)

I thought the front was for a microphone and headset. I don't think those are speaker jacks. Look closely at the icon that is next to the pink and green on the front, does it show the icon of a microphone and headset?

Normally the speaker jack will show and arrow going out which means sound going out. If you look at the speaker port in the back of the computer it is normally the light green port. Notice the icon on it. Does the icon on the front look the same as the one on the back? Is the color on the front the same as the one on the back? I think you're plugging into the wrong port.

Make sure you have the volume up in your Audio/Sound properties and make sure you don't have the speakers on mute. Also make sure you turn the speakers on and turn the volume up on them.

Hi, one of our Call Center workers cannot hear the ringing phone when she has the headset onWhat's your problem?

The ring from the telephone is picked up by the internal microphone on the HL10 Handset Lifter, typically for most phones, the lifter sits directly over the speaker grill on the telephone where the sound comes out. For telephones that curve out on the left side and don't have a straight edge, there is an accessory called a "Ring Detector" which is used. Here's a link:

HL10 Nortel Adapter Kit - 46780-01

If the internal mic on the lifter has gone out, you can plug the ring detector into the handset lifter and just stick the ring detector over the speaker grill to pick up the ring. Plugging this into the lifter will bypass the internal mic, this accessory would have come with your HL10 lifter. You can also check the ring volume on the telephone, and you can also try adjusting the ring tone on the phone (sometimes it will pick up one ring tone better than another). Here is a link below if you need to order a new ring detector:

Cs70 headset with a Cisco 7975 phone, is there a way to not have the phone ring in the headset ?

This works if you're using the HL10 handset lifter with your CS70. The HL10 has a built-in microphone to pick up the vibrations from the ringing of the phone speaker under the handset. The HL10 came with an accessory package that has an extra round microphone on a cord to help the lifter if the telephone speaker is located in an out-of-reach location on the phone. You take that external microphone, plug it into a jack on the back of the HL10 and let it hang free making sure it's not resting on any surface. That should eliminate any ringing in your headset.

I have a snom 370 voip phone with the plantronics cs70 headset but there's a bad echo on the callers end so i got the snom wireless headset adapter but i don't know how to connect it. i also have...

We've never dealt with snom wireless adapter but the CS70 and HL10 lifter is a popular set for your phone. there are a couple of things you can try to cut down on the echo.
1. Make sure CS70 is proper distance from phone, minimum of 6" (12" from a PC)
2. Make sure round compatibility dial (located on left side of base) is set correctly. Most phones work on setting #1 (never between numbers)
3. Echoing is usually caused by an improper mix of incoming and outgoing volume. With a friend listening in you can make broad and minor adjustments for both (incoming: back of base (1-4) and +/- on headset; outgoing: bottom of base (a-d) and +/- arrows on back of base).
Following these steps should help you out.

I am trying to use a plantronics headset system and cannot get a dial tone. Is this Norstar phone compatible?

You don't say what headset it is, but I will to help you.

If this is a Plantronics corded "H" series headset you will need to use an A10 adapter cord, which plugs into the headset jack on the phone.

If this is what you are using and you don't hear anything then you need to probably need to switch to an M22 amplifier box, which is then plugged into the jack where the telephone handset was plugged in.

If you are using a wireless headset it plugs into the handset jack where the handset cord was plugged into.

hi sfkimura you need to take the battery out of the phone. Next plug the headset and into the port. Take the headset out and now put the battery back into the phone. the phone got set in headset mode. You can try doing a reset of the default settings. Don 't do a factory reset it will erase your phone back to nothing on the phone. Ok hope this help

Picking up and Haning up problems. "Rls" key "Line 1-4" keys

Can you sheck something for me; under your phone where the cables are plugged into, there are 3 types of jacks... 1 jack is to plug the phone into the wall 1 jack is to plug the handset into(picture of phone handset) 1 jack is to plug a headset into(picture of headset)
Check and make sure that the handset is plugged into the handset, and NOT the headset jack... and move the cables if that is the issue. Your problem sounds very familar to your handset being plugged into the wrong jack on the bottom of your phone, and it is more common than you think.
