Sounds more like the Monitor has lost the ccfl drive in the inverter circuit very common fault with LCDs needs to be looked at by a trained technician.

With the video cable still connected and your PC on, when the screen is blank or blanks out with video or dim screen then you LCD panel is defective also the front indicator LED must go from green to amber. Chances are the Power Baord can be also defective. Both itmes are non repaiable and has to be replaced.

I had a Compaq FP 7020 (Carbon, Silver) 17 in. Flat Panel LCD Monitor with power green led on but no video . I tried to connect to different known good boot desktops , problem sill existed . What component...

It sounds like the screen is bad. A quick search with the model number and "LCD Screen" will show you that it would be cheaper to purchase a new monitor.

If it was the back light it would be an easier repair. But you are saying it does not come on at all so that is telling me the screen itself is bad.

Hope this helps! Please rate my answer :) Thanks!

Trying to purchase a power adaptor for benq fp781 can only find one compatable for fp 791 would this work on a fp 781 monitor ??

On the screen itself, where it plugs in, it should give you a voltage rating, and a line with a C encompassing a circle. Make sure that these two things match up between the two screens, they should, but at the same time, there is the possibility that they don't. Also, make sure the plug is the right size. Yes, it should work, but I would just take the extra precautions listed above to prevent frying your monitor.
I hope this helps!

Screen will not turn on benq lcd monitor for computer,POWER LIGHT HOWEVER WORKS,could this be the lamp

i would check to see if you do have 5vdc, and 12vdc. Also look for bad caps, see example here: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Worst case will be the lamps.

Power light on no screen shown

unplug from pc, turn on monitor. if there is a 'no signal' or any image displayed on the screen then the problem is not the monitor..

Benq 737s monitor black screen

BenQ LCDs are known for poor solder connections causing the inverter driver transistors to short.
Result is no backlight.

White screen

dreaded capacitor issue. benq's were famous for it. if you are handy with disassembly and careful you can take it apart and do it yourself. look for any capacitors with rounded tops. i fixed one ... the part is only two dollars or so but it's a good feeling to know you fixed it instead of tossing it.

BenQ FP767 17" Problem: Monitor wont turn on

Check four 5707, two 9204, and one bel 3A slow blow fuse. Also re-solder all cap and transformer. It's quiet common on benq and Dell(benq OEM) 17 LCD. For detail google "benq 5707", sure you can found. Good luck

Benq 17"Lcd monitor fault

Resolder the power transistors on inverter board and also check them.If display is not there at all some of this 4 transistors C5707 should be defective.Check associated fuse and Fet which drives the transistor.

Also check with Benq ,Normally offers three year warranty.

BenQ LCD 17 inch Monitor

I wonder if this has a backlight in it. Most/or all LCD flatpanel displays use a backlight in them, namely a small florescent tube (a tiny version of the office florescent lights). If this is burn't out, or the little power supply which runs it dead, you will have a black display. The image is actually there, you just can't see it, except perhaps faintly when external light hits it just right. The display must be disassembled to check this light. If you have tech savvy, and some equipment, voltmeter, maybe an oscilloscope, you could check it out. Where to get a replacement lamp? Google it... perhaps the manufacturer.
