The control board on the wiper motor has ametal "stop" that got bent.
This usually happens when the wipers are stuck ( frozen from ice?) and turned on.
This can be readjusted bu bending back to original position or replacing the control board

Wipers stop in the middle of my wishield, will not park properly

Sorry , no adjustment .
Wiper/Washer System Components
The Wiper / Washer System consists of the following components:
• Windshield wiper / washer switch
• Windshield wiper system module / motor
• Windshield washer fluid pump
• Windshield washer fluid level switch
• WPR 25A fuse
Wiper / Washer System Operation
The windshield wiper motor module is part of the windshield wiper motor cover and controls the wiper motor operation. The windshield wiper motor is a 2 speed motor. Windshield wiper DELAY operation is a low speed wiper motor function with a variable delay interval between the wipe cycles. The DELAY interval is controlled through a series of resistors within the wiper / washer switch.
Park Position Operation
When the windshield wiper / washer switch is turned to the OFF position while the wiper motor is somewhere in mid-cycle, the wiper motor module will continue to operate the wiper motor until the wipers reach the park position. If the ignition is turned off while the wipers are in mid-cycle, the wipers will stop immediately where they are. The wipers will park the next time the ignition is cycled to the ON position.

The wipers on my 2002 Buick century work properly except when they are turned off. Instead of returning to the park position they stop vertically in the center of the windshield. How do I correct this?

replace the wiper motor, the park on shut off circuit has gone awry. buy a repair book or look for videos on youtube.com as to removal and replacement.

Why do my windshield wipers stop in the middle of my windshield when I turn them off.

Im no mechanic but this was an easy fix even for me, lift the hood, unbolt the wipers, pop the black plastic clips(they look like large flat plastic screws) then lift the whole plastic cover out of the way, look down on the drivers side wiper assembly and below that it joins to the motor, on the motor there is a little metal lug that has got bent , when you run the wiper look in and you will see a little spring loaded arm pass by the lug when it goes to the idle poosition, you need to bend the lug back in towards the little arm, not too far or it will sound like it is grinding when the wipers are running.
this lug pusches the wipers back to their home position.

2002 Toyota Avalon intermittent setting on wipers not working. In that setting the wipers stay on continuosly and when setting the wipers to the off setting they stay where ever the blades are at the time...

The problem is a broken part in the module which is inside the wiper motor. As far as I know, the part is not available, and you must replace the entire wiper motor to repair the problem

Resetting wiper arms. Ice damage

Well pop the two little black plastic top hats off of the wiper arm mounts and losen the nuts. Turn your wipers off and tighten them in the lower position. There should be visible mark on the widshield where the wipers have spent most of there time sitting. If you have them to low when you turn them on you will be able to tell by how high the go up on the windshield.Well hope this helped.

2006 kia wipper works but stops in the middle of the windshield

It sounds like the the circuit board has gone bad and does not know where the base is any more so it will stop at the middle or the windshield. Auto Zone should have a new board if it's replaceable like the GM products. Good luck and hope this helps, In the mean time you can always turn your wipers on and pull the fuse out when it's at the down position so it's not up.
