My RHT497H unit only responds to power on/off. when power is on display scrolls through Hello continuously and clicks every few minutes as if trying to access a disc or drive.. I have only had the unit 3 days. the unit has been working with access to Freeview channels and I have managed to record to the HDD. but when familarising myself with the options available the remote/unit stopped responding. I unplugged everything and left it for 24hrs - once again the unit was allow access to freeview channels but when I pressed proglist to look at recorded program the unit/remote hung yet again. Is this a comman fault that can be easily resolved or do Ii need to return the unit as faulty? Many thanks in anticipation.

Sorry to say no it wont not unless the Tv set manuel says it has a Duel Freeview feed , you have to get another freeview box for the recorder .
besides If you used the freview in the tv 1 , the tv would have to be on when you wanted to record ?. and 2 you couldnt watch another channel whilst recording another .. only 1 tuner ?. also you could only record the program you had on .at the time no timer facility .
People are still used to the Old system of VHs and the fact that all videos had tuners built in so you could watch and record .. It will come and indeed some more modern DVD recorder have freeview built in again sorry but thats the facts , and dont forget if you want the pay per view channels on free view your going to need a tuner with a pay card port ...
