Car won't Crank/start

With a voltage meter see how many volts are at the starter terminal. If not 12+ volts you have a bad connection. Check connection at the starter solenoid. Does it have 12+volts? Short the solenoid. Does it put voltage to the starter?

I have a 98 gmc Jimmy my remote lock battery died so we were unlocking the truck with the key and driving well that lasted only 2 days and the truck died we got a jump to get it home got a new battery...

Getting spark? Power coming from the battery I think you meant to say, if I am correct. If it won't jump start, sounds like a cable from battery to vehicle is not connected. Igniton switch connection or fuse maybe. Check the daisy chaining of the negative battery cable for clean contacts. Also a starter relay could be bad. Just some more suggestions to add. Don't drive to far from home until repaired. Towing cost too much as you know by now.
Never did like remote locks, We as humans seem to be getting more and more depended on convienances that cause us more inconvienances. Could try a positive cable to starter to check if it will turn over the starter. Voltage regulator could cause battery not to charge while driving. When car dies, do lights work or they dim from engine sucking battery dry. Just some suggestions.

I bought a 2007 Camry with a remote start. The seller doesn't know how to start the car with the remote. The remote is a 4 button Viper 474V.

First, be sure that the remote is programmed for the vehicle by using it to operate the door locks(pressing the lock and unlock buttons). The parking lights should flash if nothing else works. The usual way to operate the remote starter with this remote is by pressing the * button once but, the option could have changed if the remote has been reprogrammed differently. So, try pressing the * button once. If this doesn't work press it twice within two seconds. If this doesn't work try pressing the lock and unlock buttons at the same time. If these steps fail to initiate the remote starter try the steps listed for the * button with the aux button. If either of the remote starter inhibits (hood pin, neutral safety) are active you should receive flashing parking lights for a failed attempt to remote start.

I have a factory starter on my chevy malibu 2006. Only one remote would start the car starter. then both stopped unlocking and locking the car but they both open the truck. Now the remote started does not...

Usually with remotes you turn the key for the ignition to the off position, then turn the ignition key eight times without starting it, on the 8th time leave the key on the forward position then push any button on your remote that should fix the remote problem.

We are locked out of our cadillac catera 1998. remote died last week and the key will only allow us to lock the door not unlock and there is only the keyhole in the drivers side....Help!!

This is a common problem with these cars, what you need to do is first be sure the battery is replace on the remote itself the take a watch battery and have a number on the battery to identify the correct replacement. If this doesn't work and the battery in the car is dead the wire going to the starter must be located and energized by jacking up the car and hooking up the red wire of a pair of jumper cables to starter's terminal where the large wire connects. After doing that connect the remaining black jumper wire to a suitable ground under the vehicle, proceed to connect the jumper cables to a fresh battery and then try the keyless entry remote.
