Why does my blackberry curve says reload software: 513?

Need to update software on your phone . For do that you can use Descktop Software (available on www.us.blackberry.com ) or just download and install on PC latest OS for your device ( search www.osforblackberry.com ) , delete vendor.xml from C:\\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and run Loader.exe from same folder. Follow the step by step instructions of programm and update your smartphone .

download JL commander (google search for program) choose "Reset to factory defaults' option then use Blackberry desktop software to reload OS current version. All of your data will be lost once wiped but it is unaccessable already.

i'd attempted 10 times USB pwd, and now my phone s/w was all whipped off. msg on screen is reload software 513, plz help. i'd just got my Curve 8520 3 days ago...

Based on www.blackberry.com the error message you are getting is due to typing incorrect password for a couple of times (10 or more).All of the data and applications on the BlackBerry smartphone have been deleted.

The BlackBerry® Device Software must be reloaded on to the BlackBerry smartphone. For instructions, click HERE

Note: Due to the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) error, the BlackBerry smartphone will not show a Connected state in the BlackBerry® Desktop Manager. Proceed to reload the BlackBerry Device Software using the Application Loader.

I have a blackberry curve that drove me crazy because the application loader didnt work with mine either but here is what I tried and it worked for mine so hopefully it will work for yours. First, go to the blackberry.com website and click on software. Then click on device software. Select the version that is compatible with your phone. Be sure that your phone is connected to the computer with the USB cord that is came with. Then click download and follow the instructions from there. This should reload the software on your phone.

JVM 513 indicates all data and application on the device have been deleted. To restore, you need to reinstall the Blackberry handheld software and restore the data from the backup file if you have it on your computer. To reload the software, you will have to connect the device to the computer and run Blackberry desktop manager and then application loader. In case you do not have thse software on your computer, check with your service provider and they will have the software available for free download on their website.
