When i did a soft reset on my xxl540 series a black screen with a lot of white writing came up should this happen

Hard reset:
1. Power off
2. Push both soft keys and power up.
3. At T Mobile screen it will change to black with writing and instructions.
4. Let go of soft keys and push send (follow directions on screen).
5. Formatted!

you have to do a master reboot on the phone.. that will clear up the things that you cant erase... Hard reset:

the "soft buttons are right below the screen hold both down then turn on the phone this will make the phone ask if you want to reset to default so try removing the batt first as this it the last resort you will lose all changes made to the phone except mem card and sim card stored items worked on my shadow fine good luck peeps

got this from a friend: Apparently some series of Acer notebook came with BAD_EDID laptop display. The only thing wrong is the checksum which is 9D and should be 1D. Powerstrip 3.76 (registered version) managed automatically to correct EDID.

There is no problem with drivers from 101.x series, but with any newer driver max. resolution is 1024x768 and the picture is in left upper corner of the screen with black bar on the right and smudged taskbar to the bottom of the screen. After installing and restarting resolution is set to 800x600 what results in white screen whit thick black bar slowly appearing on the screen.

youll have to reset it. with the phone turned off, press the two soft keys and hold them down. soft keys are the buttons with the lines on them located below the screen. as youre holding down the soft keys, you need to press the power button. it will start to power up then go to a black screen with white writing. press the send key. the phone will reboot.

careful, because this reset will delete all personal data and set everything to manufacturer default....good luck!

First make sure your phone is fully charged. Then check...
It may be the storage card - if you take the storage card out it will boot up and you can put it back in. - pain in the a## but it may work. Or Try taking the SIM card out, boot it up, turn it off, replace the card, and turn it on again.
Last resort is a hard reboot. If you did a hard reboot and nothing happened then you did not do it successfully. To do a hard reboot.

- with the phone powered off
- press the two soft keys, yes the left and right soft keys which are the two dash keys labeled - -
- while keeping it pressed, press the power button down
- keep the power button pressed down for 1 - 2 seconds and then release the power button while still holding down the two soft keys. Keep holding down the soft keys until a black screen appears and prompts appear
- now release the soft keys and follow prompts
- if you dont see the black screen with the reset option, pull the battery out, reinsert it and repeat the above steps
- when you see the black screen with the reset option, press the Send button to confirm the reset.

you can do a software reset.......to do this the phone needs to be off. press the soft keys (buttons with the lines on them above the back arrow and home button) and press the power button and keep you fingers on the soft keys until a black screen with white writing pops up....by pressing the green call button here, it will reset the phone.....good luck!

do a sw reset....its possible it was damaged when it was dropped in the water, but not likey....
