Have a PROFORM CX 500 at my home. It used to work fine but now there is a strange striking sound coming out of the front chamber when I run it at a spead 6 km/h or above. And with the sound you can feel breaking momentum of the belt as well. When we run the machine with no one onboard, there is no such sound. How do I overcome this problem?

SOURCE: Proform Crosswalk Dual Motion Cross Trainer

I think you are talking about the front roller. It has a rubber sleeve that helps to grip the walking belt. Sometimes you can tighten this enough to keep it from slipping but you run the risk of overtightening and damaging both rollers. We recomend replacing that roller.

SOURCE: The belt is slipping and making a squealing sound

This is caused by one of three problems. First and most likely, the walking belt is loose. To tighten the belt, start by locating the two bolts that adjust the rear roller (one on each side of the unit in the back). Run the unit at about 3 mph. Tighten the bolts a 1/4 turn at a time. Make sure that what you do to one side, you MUST do to the other side or the belt will get off center. After you tighten it 1/4 turn, check the belt to see if it is still slipping. If it is then tighten the belt 1/4 turn again. Continue until the belt does not slip, but do not tighten the bolts more than 2 full turns. If it takes more than 2 turns then something else is the problem. The second problem that it could be is the drive belt might be loose. To tighten the drive belt, start by removing the front cover. loosen the bolts around the motor then tighten the drive belt by tightening the motor adjuster bolt. Once the drive belt is tight, tighten the motor back down. The third problem that it could be is the walking belt could be worn and need to be replaced. Let me know if you have any questions.

The deck needs to be lubricated. The lubricant can be purchase @ gympart.com. LUBRICATION PROCEDURE: 1. Turn off and unplug treadmill. 2. Cut off the end of the tube of lubricant. 3. Holding the tube in one hand, insert the tube underneath the treadbelt halfway between front and back and halfway between right and left. 4. I have a 1980 Honda cx 500. It runs great, but it does make a noise while in gear. It sounds like something is winding up as speed increases and winding down as speed decreases. When I put it in neutral...

Perhaps you got one of the new Honda 1980 Tech where they are using a Turbo to gain HP(Kw). It is a white elephant but a technology experiment. Bike too heavy for turbo, not very agile. Google CX500 and read it's review in NZ Bikers magazine 2010 March edition.

Strange clicking sound from my book home edition 1TB. Disk is not visible in any system Mac or Windows.

Is the clicking sound continous? Did the disk fell down or did something else hit the dis? The symptoms are bad for the data you have in the disk... If the sound isn't constantly, leave the disk on the computer for a long time, it's possible to work again....

My 1979 CX 500 is running well but a strange noise seems to be coming from the transmission. Gear change etc is good and I checked all the levels and greased as required before using it after the winter...

The only thing I can think of is a shaft bearing gone bad. Probably the output shaft. Does the noise go away when sitting still? If so that would pretty much limit the problem to the output shaft bearing.

I hope this helps.
