How do I set my wall oven to "low broil"? When I turn on broil it is always "high broil"

What kind of brand of oven that you are using? There are two types where you can you can use your broiler.
*Low Broil: There are 2 broil elements. In low broil only the inner element is on.
*
High Broil: There are 2 broil elements. In high broil both the inner and outer are on.

How to adjust oven controll to the right temp.

You may find that your new oven cooks differently than the one it replaced. Use your new oven for a few weeks to
become more familiar with it. If you still think your new oven is too hot or too cold, you can adjust the thermostat yourself.
Do not use thermometers, such as those found in grocery stores, to check the temperature setting of your oven.
These thermometers may vary 20-40 degrees.
NOTE: This adjustment will not affect the broiling or the self-cleaning temperatures. The adjustment will be retained
in memory after a power failure.
Adjust the oven thermostat-Do it yourself!
To Adjust the Thermostat
Touch the BAKEand BROIL HI/LOpads
at the same time for 2 seconds until
the display shows SF.
Touch the BAKEpad. A two digit
number shows in the display.
The oven temperature can be adjusted
up to (+) 35°F hotter or (-) 35°F
cooler. Touch the + pad to increase the
temperature in 1 degree increments.
Touch the - pad to decrease the
temperature in 1 degree increments.
When you have made the adjustment,
touch the START/ON pad to go back to
the time of day display. Use your oven
as you would normally.
NOTE: This adjustment will not affect the broiling
or self-cleaning temperatures. It will be retained
in memory after a power failure

While using the broil function the stove we think got too hot. The beeper alarm sounded and the display window said F2. The cancil button would not shut off the eliment so we pulled the plug. After leting...

This problem is usually associated with a shorted relay on the control board. No...this is NOT normal and there's usually something seriously wrong if you have to unplug a range to turn off any of the features. You will need a new control board to correct the problem. If you want to remove the component leads that plug into the control board broil relay as a TEMPORARY fix while awaiting parts, it can be done, but you need to ensure its done correctly. Follow these steps:

1. UNPLUG the range and turn the appliance around so you can access the back panel.

2. Remove the back panel so you can view the control board and wires leading to the broil relay.

3. Disconnect the wires from the CONTROL BOARD and tuck them away where they will not be in contact with any heat source or electrical source.

This will render the broil function inoperative and takes the least amount of time. Since the broil element is working, I wouldn't recommend removing it. This will save you the time of possibly damaging it and/or having to reinstall it later.

NOTE: Some ranges use the broil element during the BAKE cycle to preheat the oven. If your range is designed this way, you may or may not have desired baking results.

The surface elements/burners work independently of the oven, so they should still function normally.

Replacements parts can be purchased from any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

Prices vary between sites, so shop and compare. the first three sites listed also have helpful exploded view parts illustrations to assist you with locating and properly identifying the parts you may need.

Take the time to repair the appliance and do not leave it configured this way as a permanent solution. Some websites (Sears) will sometimes offer the refurbished control boards at a fraction of the price if a brand new one exceeds a price you're willing to spend.

If you have any questions, please post back with your MODEL NUMBER and let me know. I hope this helps you.

The bottom oven is heating up very slow.

If you are having problems with your electric oven heating up too slowly, not being able to maintain temperature set point, or wild variations in temperature, then you probably have a bad baking element in your oven.

The bake element is the bottom element in your oven. The life span of these elements can vary depending on the usage of your oven and the quality of the element. Anything electric has an unpredictable lifespan. Elements made on the same assembly line can vary greatly in how long they last. But when the element burns out it will need to be replaced to have your oven work properly.

The thing the fools many people is that many ovens will use the broil element to preheat the oven and then switch to using the baking element only. When this happens the oven will no longer heat and will cool down. The unit may sense this and activate the broil element again which will cause wild swings in temperature and also can cause food to burn on the top self or not bake properly.

If you can see the elements, watch them and see if they both get red hot when initially warming the oven. If only the top, broil element gets hot then you have a burned out element or a bad contacts where the element plugs into. Usually lifting the element and pulling out on it will release the element. If the contacts are discolored or pitted then they could be causing your problems. By using an ohm meter you can check the resistance of the element. If you get no continuity through the element it is no good.Bad elements will often have blisters, bubbles, or even burn in two.

If the element contacts are bad, make sure the you replace both the element and the receptacle that the element plugs into. Replacing only the element will only temporarily solve your problem.

Hello I have a Char-Broil grill model# 463268706. It is set-up right now for natural gas. But I need to convert it back to propane gas. Does anybody have or know what is the thread size on the orifice?...

You not only have to have the correct thread size, you also have to have the correct orifice size. The size of the orifice varies from grill to grill which is why "universal kits" don't work on all grills. You will have to contact the manufacturer and get the correct orifice size, or get the orifices from the manufacturer. If you need help, let me know.

Bake does not heat up. Broil works though

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that you oven has two heating elements. A lower one for general baking and an upper one for broiling (this means that you don't have a broiler "drawer").

If this is the case, then the problem exists with the pilot/ignition system for the lower heat element.

The systems vary by manufacturer, but the type that I'm familiar with involves and electrical heat element that ignites the gas once it starts glowing. It's possible that a wire has been damaged/disconnected or that the heat element has malfunctioned.

If your oven has a pilot, then it's possible that the pilot went out on the lower element and not the upper. Last option would be an electric "spark" style ignition which may have suffered from the same problems as the electric heat element mentioned above.

Frigidaire single oven broiling

hi,
The pan and it's grid is all you need, The broiler pan and it grid allow dripping grease to drain and be kept away from the high heat of the broiler. DO NOT use the pan without its grid. DO NOT cover the grid with foil. Some helpful info.. Preheating is suggested when searing rare steaks. Broil on side until the food is browned; turn and cook on the second side. Broiling times vary, so watch the food closely. Time not only depends on the distance from element, but on the thickness and aging of meat, fat content and doneness preferred. The first side usually requires a few minutes longer than second. BE SURE THE DOOR IS OPEN AN INCH OR TWO WHILE BROILING
