Hi, my father gave me his Sharp Caraoul Microwave, however while he was cooking something, ther item was touching off of the door and burnt a small hole throught the plastic liner and the mettal grate. It is an oval shape less than 1 cm. I have placed an plastic liner from my old microwave over the one that is already there, however I would like toi know if this is safe to use? the outside door is intact and when I put my hand on the outside door it is not hot, maybe a little warm. I am concerned with microwaves that may come out of it and I am wondering if it is goign to expolde it I use it for a long period of time?

Sharp Carousel R530BK microwave won't cook unless light pressure is kept on the door button.

There are door switches and one of them is evidently out of adjustment or the little actuator arm on it is.

Stops working after 20 seconds

The magnetron is over heating causing the thermal fuse to open to cut power, the only option is replace the part, but keep in mind it is the most expensive item to install.

Hi, I have a problem with my Sharp Microwave... I shut the door and the microwave started and sounded like it was cooking... it was not cooking but would not shut off until I unplugged it from the outlet....

The most likely problem is the control board.
The board is malfunctioning and or has a stuck relay. The board would need to be replaced. Please rate this post.

Sharp 1874- Door seems to "jar open" and oven stops

if you have a warranty get a new one installed they have to honor your warranty or better yet if they want payment you want new unit sometimes they come deffective from the factory ad you may have gotten one of them

I have a sharp micro wave oven. Occasionally, when some foods are cooked or heated, you can see small bursts of blue flame. What I should do ? I only use microwave safe containers.

You probably have a burnt wave guide cover. Look inside the microwave either on the side or on the top, it's a square piece of mica board, and you should see a burnt spot on it. You should be able to replace it fairly easy with the model number I can check on a replacement for you.

Sharp 1611

Quite often this is due to a bad door switch. Opening the door while cooking (without first hitting the STOP pad) is the primary cause of door switch failure.

If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info (as well as a text file which helps in diagnosing and repairing door switch problems) at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

We also have the complete service manual for this model at our site.

Microwave blew up after cooking an egg

Yes the internal fuse will have blown. I would also think the door latch switches and monitor switch will also need re adjustment
