You are complaining in the wrong place. FixYa is an online advice site manned by volunteers working in their own homes around the world (I am in the UK). FixYa do not make or sell any brand of anything, and you are not a customer of theirs by virtue of having bought a camera or any other item.

Initialization Error on my nikon d40

This is usually caused by a failure of the motor in the SQ unit on the side of the mirror box. It raises and lowers the mirror, ***** the shutter, and operates the aperture mechanism.

My nikon d40 has a problem, on the lcd it says shutter error

hi
even if camera says shutter error, most of case are defective sequence unit (SQ unit). however shutter problem or sq unit would be charged around $75 to 235 depend on what your local repair shop want to charge.
usuallly nikon would charge more on general problem. it is batter to bring to local repair shop like those type of problem.

Nikon D40 shutter speed problem

The D40 will not take great photos of an indoor event without blurring or noise. You need a fast lens and a high ISO using the popup flash or on camera flash would be ideal but some of these events you can not use flash. All these images I shot with a Nikon D40. http://www.facebook.com/home.php?src=fftb#/pages/Keller-TX/Raving-Design/78762448229?v=photos&ref=ts Learn to use the camera for ur events. Experiment it's all about trial and error. Ray
