Note that, in my experience, you must hold down the reset button about 20 seconds WHILE THE POWER IS ON and once you see all the lights flash you have reser the router to standard settings. You probably want to re-assign the channel frequencies and do a few other boring set-ups at this time.

If you can not remember the password than the ownly thing you can do is a reset (according to manual) than you will be able to log in using default user and password (YOU WILL LOOSE ALL SETTINGS) so you will have to re configure the router...

Have fun!

Unable to log in to web face config. tried every combo for user name and password. nothing works.

Here is the answer from Linksys itself-
The default IP Address is 192.168.1.1. Leave the username field blank and the password is "admin".
Key to this is to leave the username field BLANK.

After trying to connect my mac laptop to ethernet suddenlink had a failure at the same time. NOWI CAN NOT OPEN THE ROUTER OOR ANYTHING. jim FOUTTY

Reset your router back to it's factory settings by holding the reset button for about 5 seconds. I have provided a list of the most popular router brands. If it does not work you may need to google what your specific model's default IP address/default username/default passwords are, for example search for "Encore ENHWI-2AN3 default IP address" The default login info can change, it can depend on where you obtained your router. If you purchased it yourself from a store then the standard defaults should work. If you obtained your router from your Internet Provider you may need to contact your service provider. It also may depend whether it's an old or new model router as well. And you may need to press and hold the reset button on your router several times before it actually clears. Make sure you have a wired connection then once you have accessed your router simply run the Setup Wizard. Set your SSID as something you'll remember like "Mavericks Network" and your Password can be something like your phone number for example 3109876543

Belkin - Username: Leave the field blank Password: Leave the field blank Default IP address is: 192.168.2.1

Buffalo - Username: root Password: Leave the field blank Default IP address is: 192.168.11.1

D-Link - Username: admin Password: Leave the field blank Default IP address is: 192.168.0.1

Encore - Username: admin Password: admin Default IP address 192.168.1.1

Linksys - Username: admin Password: admin Default IP address 192.168.1.1

NetGear - Username: admin Password: password Default IP address will be: 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1

How do i find my wpa2 key for this router? i have tried typing in th ip adress on my adress bar and it wont let me access the page.

What IP address were you entering in your web browser? Were you prompted for a username and password, or was the browser simply timing out when attempting to make a connection? I believe the default IP address for the router is 192.168.0.1 so make sure you're entering http://192.168.0.1 in your browser. If you're then prompted for a username and password then enter 'admin' for the username and try and leave the blank field blank then click 'OK' and see if you're able to login, unless you've changed this information.

I have forgotten my security key and need to obtain it to set up a new wireless printer. I know my router IP adress

you will need to enter your routers IP in your web broweser (example: http:192.168.1.1)
Log in to your router and reset the wireless security password to something else.
The default login for most routers is;
username: blank
Password: admin

Or some combination of the two

How do I put a password on my Belkin wireless G plus mimo router?

it depends on what you specifically want to password-protect: a. protecting the network from unauthorized users? b. protecting the network's admin interface?
for a. - log into your network's admin interface (usually http://192.168.0.1) - go to the category of wireless security - select the type of network protection you are looking for (strength - i.e. wep, wap, wpa2) and set your password following the steps listed within your router's admin interface...
for b. - log into your network's admin interface (usually http://192.168.0.1) - if you have never done this before, then your username should be filled in as Admin and leave password blank and hit enter.... from there, you are able to change or at least add a password to the interface from unauthorized access (usually under category security)

Can't get it configured

Try to reset the router using a paper clip, then try to re-log in to the router with the IP address, If you are still unable to log in , try log as admin as the username and password as admin or admin on the username and password is password.

Open signal!

You have to log in to the router using a web browser. Simply connect to the router's IP address. Typically, it's http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1. You will probably be prompted for a username and password. Unless you've changed it, the default is either:

Username: (leave blank)
Password: admin
or
Username: admin
Password: admin

If you changed the password on the router, log in with your updated password instead.
