I have a Ricoh CL 3000 and have begun to notice some vertical "streaking" in printed images about 1 1/2 to 22 inches from the left side of the paper. There are no error codes or consumable replacement codes, but this issue appears on both B&W and Color prints, but is most prevellent with color printout. Trying to ascertain which consumable may be causing this, PCU's, transfer belt, fusing unit etc. The printre has run flawlessly and only has a total page count of just under 6000. Any help, most appreciated....
The following is taken from the service manual I hope it helps thanks J

Sometimes the PCUs can be covered under warranty. At that count it was probably defective. For it to happen on black and white as well could be a transfer belt. Fusers don't cause lines because the toner is already applied to the copy before it gets there from the drum and the transfer belt.
Hello,
please try to examine the transfer belt. if this not resolved its recommended to bring the unit to the nearest registered repairman in your area.

Greetings,
Check the Photoconductor unit if scratches are present.

The first thing I would do would be to put the old toner cartridge in if you still have it, if not try a new one. If that doesn't solve the problem you may need either a new fuser or transfer roller.
Well in most laser printers the cause of the lines could be a scratch on the actual toner, dirty toner cartridge, or even the fuser. when these are the cause, you wont be able to see any consumables error message. you may try cleaning it out first before doing any replacement, it is worth a try.

In my experience, the fuser has always been the cause of the lines.
The instructions as copied from the Pixma 480 "onscreen manual." (Only the text -- not the images -- could be pasted into the solution. Hope you can follow the text.) Steve G.

No obvious scratches or damage to the PCU....
Yes, I understand that I need to replace "a" part, but I am trying to get a consensus as to which part to replace.
I have examined he transfer belt and there does not appear to be any problem. No scratches, dents, dings or imperfection.
Im going to oder a color PCU and see if that does the trick, if not, I guess the transfer belt unit will be next....
