After pressing the ON button. The main speaker box with volume control has to be tapped/slapped on the side in order to make the system turn on. Appears that a wire is loose inside the speaker box. How am I able to repair this problem? Have owned this system for approx. 5 years with great sounds, and it still produces super sounds. Just need to fix or replace the said item. Please send details reference the X-530. I'm mechanically inclined and with proper guidance, I may be able to make repairs at my end. If not, include mailing address and instructions where to send item for professional repairs. Sincerely, Teddy

FOLLOW this steps and fix it. God bless you

  1. Hard Reset
    • 1
Pull out the stylus from the back of the HTC Touch Diamond or the side of the HTC Touch Pro.

    • 2
Using one hand, press and hold the volume down button on the left side of the device, the power button on the top of the device and the circular button on the face of the device. It is generally easiest to hold the volume down button with your thumb, have your palm over the LCD, press the power button with your index finger and the circular button with your pinky.

    • 3
Continue to hold the buttons down while you turn the device over to access the back side. Use the stylus to press the "Reset" button, located near the end of the stylus cavity on the Diamond, and by the port on the bottom of the device on the Touch Pro. Release the "Reset" button, but do not stop holding the volume down, power and circular buttons.

    • 4
Turn the HTC Diamond over and watch the LCD. When a message appears saying that this operation will delete your data, release the three buttons. Press the volume up button to complete the hard reset.

    Clear Storage
    • 5
Slide your finger to the right along the bottom of the LCD until the "Settings" option appears. Tap "All Settings" on the device.

    • 6
Tap the "System" tab on the screen and then tap "Clear Storage"

    • 7
Select the drop-down box and choose "Clear Storage Only." Type "1234" into the text box confirming that you do want to delete your information and then press "Yes."

Can't hear the skype ring when a call comes into my computer.

If you're missing Skype calls because you can't hear the ringtone, it's time to crank up the volume. There are three different ways to increase the ringtone: within the Skype client, within your operating system's volume settings and by adjusting your physical speakers or headset. You might find it necessary to adjust all three settings to get the proper volume. You also must set your Skype status to "Available," because a "Busy" status disables the ring from incoming calls.

Launch Skype. Open the "Help" menu. Select "Options." Select "Audio Settings" from the left sidebar of the Options window. Find the "Speakers" listing. Uncheck the "Automatically Adjust Speaker Settings" box. Slide the blue volume slider to the right to increase the volume. Press the green play button to test the volume. Skype plays a default ringtone to test the sound. Adjust your computer's sound settings. Windows users, click the speaker icon in the taskbar located at the bottom right of your screen. Move the slider up to increase the volume. Mac users, open the "Apple" menu. Select "System Preferences" and click "Sound." Drag the slider to the right to increase the volume. Turn up the volume on your speakers or headset. Desktop speakers can be adjusted by turning the knob on the front of the main speaker. Headsets sometimes have a small button that can be pressed up and down to adjust the volume, depending on the model.

Have a sony KDL - 46v5100 volume problem

Tap the "Theater" button on the remote. You should see either "Theater Mode: On" or "Theater Mode: Off". If it is off, tap it again to turn it on and wait for it to go away. Now tap again (should say "Theater Mode: On") and then press and hold it for about a second. This should actually turn it off, as opposed to just pretending to. Works on my larger Sony KDL.

YAMAHA AV receiver RX-V861 I have the message 'Vol-fix' appearing on Zone 2 and no sound. This was working fine until then

Setting the RX-V861 remote control to operate Zone 2:
  1. Using a ballpoint pen or similar object and press the [CODE SET] button RX-V861 remote control. The[TRANSMIT INDICATOR]on the remote should flash twice.
  2. Using the [NUMERICAL KEY PAD] on the remote and key in 9992, the [TRANSMIT INDICATOR] should flash.
Assigning the receivers internal amp for Zone 2:
  1. Set the remote control selector to [AMP]. (Located to the right of the volume buttons on the Remote.).
  2. Press the [SET MENU]button on the remote control.
  3. Arrow down to Manual Setup and press the Enter button on the remote control.
  4. Arrow to the [SOUND MENU] option and press the [ENTER] button on the remote control.
  5. Arrow to Speaker Set and press the [ENTER] button on the remote control.
  6. Arrow to the EXTRA SP ASSIGN and select ZONE2
  7. Press the [RETURN] button on the remote control to exit out and return to the Manual Setup.
NOTES: There is an option for setting the Maximum Volume and Initial Volume in the Zone Set menu.
  • Max Volume: This is an optional feature but isrecommended to prevent the accidental change in volume levels thatcould damage the speakers and receiver.
  • Initial Volume: This is also a great feature that would seamlessly start the volume level for the second or third zone at the desired level.
We do not recommend using any Speaker Selector boxes to enable more than the recommended number of speakers per terminal.
Controlling Zone 2 using the RX-V861 remote control:
  1. If the Main Zone on the receiver is on, press the [POWER BUTTON]down and while holding that button down press the [PHONO]/[**] button on the remote. The [TRANSMIT INDICATOR] will light up.
  2. You will not be able to use the following buttons on the remote: (Pressing any other button will cause the remote to exit Zone 2 mode. [POWER], [STANDBY], [VOLUME], [MUTE] and the [INPUT SELECTOR] buttons [DVD], [CD], etc.)

There are the instructions as written straight from yamaha. If you need any further assistance please let me know.

Can't find the hands free speaker button

In an increasingly hands-free world, the external speaker feature of cell phones has increased the usability of cell phonesmag-glass_10x10.gif in the car, public transportation and at work. The volume controls on the external speaker controls can be somewhat difficult to find and manipulate.
  1. Step 1 Make sure the speaker setting is actually on. If the speaker is turned to off, the volume you hear will be coming from the earpiece and will be very low indeed. Sometimes there is a button on a cellphone which you can simply press and hold to activate the speaker function. You will notice a difference immediately.
  2. Step 2 Check to see if you have external volume controls. On some models, there is a button or two buttons that adjust the volume of both the handset and the speaker volume. If you have these buttons, use them to adjust these controls while on calls. Remember that adjusting the speaker volume will subsequently adjust the handset volume once you've turned off the speaker mode.
  3. Step 3 Access the sound controls in your phone. If your phone does not have external speaker control, it can be accessed by adjusting the controls saved on your phone. Also, the main settings can be controlled even if you do have external controls. Phones are different, but in your menu of options, choose sound and sound controls. This should give you options for ring volume, alarm volume and handset volume.
  4. Step 4 FInd volume controls for all settings. If you wish yo have multiple settings for each function---alarm, calls and speaker---you should be able to adjust these accordingly. Search through the control options until you've found speaker controls. Choose the setting you desire and save the settings.
  5. Step 5 Using the main volume as a foundation, use the external controls (if applicable) to adjust the levels.

Samsung code for a comcast cable box

The Remote w/ On Demand buttons, it's the same as the DVD player code 1932. Hit the AUX button, press and hold SETUP until AUX blinks and enter 1932. Press the power button and it should turn off the reciever.

*UNLOCKING VOLUME CONTROL* You must until your AUX volume control in order to use your Comcast remote. To do so, you must select AUX, press and hold SETUP until AUX blinks. Enter 9-9-3 and press Vol - (down). This should unlock your volume control when you select AUX. I'm not sure how to set AUX as your default setting for volume, unless you were to program your AUX device as your TV and vice versa I'd suspect.
Hope this helps!
