Yes it is. What you need to do is connect your blu-ray video output either HDMI or Component directly to your tv, and the audio output of your blu-ray should be connected to the digital coaxial input on the samsung system

Sigh... you make it sound SO easy... but there is such a huge number of many different colored wires running between the TV, Samsung home theater receiver, and Cable box.. I just don't know for sure where to connect the Blu-Ray... I'll keep studying your instructions and the backs of all the pieces of equipment! Thanks!
To clarify this, can you let me know what type of cables you have to connect the Blu-ray?
Hi Robert,
Ok.. it is working... sorta. I took your advice and connected the BluRay to the TV with the HDMI cable, then, ran into a problem when trying to connect the audio. There is no (orange) coaxial port on the Samsung home theater receiver. The red and white audio ports are already in use, connected to the TV. Perhaps I need to buy an optical cable, and connect that to the BluRay and the Samsung. For now, I connected the audio from the BluRay to the TV. Now I'm struggling to connect the wireless.... I tried automatically, using the WPS button, and also manually, entering my security key. Won't connect. I wanted to try the streaming Netflix.
I did try playing a DVD, though, and it worked. I don't have any BluRay discs, so I can't see the benefit until I rent one.
But thank you very much for your help!
One more update... I can get the home theater to work while playing a blu ray disc by turning on the home theater, hitting the 'stop' button (since a disc automatically loads), then turning on the blu ray player and playing a disc. Apparently, the prior HDMI cable connection between the home theater and the TV is enough... since I have no additional cable running from the blu ray, other than the one HDMI cable connecting it to the TV.
Now.. the wireless... it IS working. It is properly connected to the network, will play some of the things on the bluray that use internet access. However, certain things require a software update, which will NOT download. I have a disc from SONY on the way to update software, so I hope to be able to use Netflix.
Again, thanks to you for posting helpful suggestions!
