I have the 1193 bread maker and I have loved and used it for years. Last winter, we built a new wall cabinet and made an enclosed shelf for the bread machine above a new wall oven. The shelf is open in front, but enclosed on top and bottom, and on both sides. Several inches of air space all around, we thought it would be ok. About a month ago, it stopped in the middle of the mixing cycle making bread, and would not restart. The digital panel seems to be fine. The words and numbers appear as always, but when I push the start button, it gives me 3 short beeps, and nothing happens. Has it just worn out, did we burn something out by enclosing it, and more to the point, can it be repaired? We absolutely love it, and if it can not be repaired, is there another on this planet that is available...cause we have hunted for a month, and find one!! Please help. Thanks, Vicki Zimmerman

Hi, I recommend that you move your bread machine from its exalted place of honor, just to test it and see if it is getting too hot to function. Move it to the countertop and try making a loaf of bread in it. If it stops again in the mixing cycle then its time to get a new machine. If it doesn't shut down and keeps going then you know that the enclosed space you created for it is causing the problem. I don't have a 1193 in stock but I have a variety of other machines in stock including a Toastmaster (different model #)! Hopefully you won't need to replace. Please share with me what happens when you do your test.... good luck!

Recently we bake bread and the top 1/3 does'nt bake well and the top of the bread comes off. What could the problem be.

The manual for the Toastmaster Breadmaker's Hearth 1193 Bread Maker & Cook's Oceb can be found here:

I have not used this machine but you may find it helpful to refer to pages 55 and 56 of the manual.

Are you letting the loaf rest to complete baking before slicing?

I have toastmaster model 1193..as it mixes the dough it makes a grinding sound- the shaft and the mixing blade are worn. how /where can I get replacement parts for this. We LOVE the machine and hate to get...

You can often find them on ebay at reasonable prices. I have an older model toastmaster that is almost new if you are interested let me know. Sometimes you can find the pan and paddle assemblies up for sale and/or auction there also.

When bread made blade inside loaf happens everytime only used the brand new bread maker 4 times.

Blade left in the bread is normal. Just use a wooden toothpick and push in with it as you outline the paddle with little holes until you can remove it. After a little while you can use your fingers to just pull it out.
Whatever you do don't use anything metal to remove it or you risk damaging the nonstick surface on the paddle!

here is a website for parts. based on what I see here you may be better off buying a new or used machine with a good paddle and pan.

Crust is too hard!

First be sure your dough consistency is correct.
It should be very soft almost sticky. To make it a bit softer you can
add an extra tablespoon of fat.
