I have an Electrolux front loading washer (EIFLW55HIWO) that has water backing up in the detergent compartment. I have removed the drawer several times however I'm still having the same issue. We have also had no ability to use fabric softner as the machine does not pull the softner out of the drawer when loaded.

SOURCE: washing power drawer, the fabric softner section

Pull the drawer out as far as it will come and then grasping it firmly, give it a good tug towards you, this will free the drawer to enable you to thoroughly clean every piece of it, particularly the conditioner parts of it.
Get a piece of wire with a bend on the end, and poke it in to all the holes in the top of the dispenser compartment, this will clera any blockages there.
Plz rate my solution, and feel free to leave any comment.
Thanks.

SOURCE: fabric softner does not empty

I had a similar problem and removed the complete dispenser drawer and washed it in with hot water. The small inner cups for the fabric softener and bleach should be removed and the hot water directed into the small "stand pipes" on the back side of the covers. It appears the fluids in the cups are siphoned out and if the pipes are clogged at the bottom there will be no flow. Also is the plate is not fully seated, the siphon effect is will not work.
Also, my wife said she does not use the cheaper brands of fabric softener anymore because we think that might have caused some of the clogging.

As a side note, if you remove the top of the washer, there is an adjustable dial where you can fine tune the amount of liquid dispenced. You can try adjusting that too. I think my final fix was to clean the back side of the face plates inside the dispenser and ensure they are fully seated to allow the proper siphon effect.

SOURCE: Cleaning agent placement

From left to right as you see.
1 This is for your frontloader soap powder or other detergent.
2 Fabric conditioner or softener. If this is too thick, mix with water to prevent clogging.
3 Detergent for soaking agent. I dont see 'bleach' anywhere

There is an panel, front bottom right which holds your pump filter, unscrew to clean out. But wait. Plug off the mains.
You will see a hose on the left, this is if your water in the tub cannot drain, you can drain it here. Your tub can hold upto 20 litres/4.4 gals.so have a suitable container to collect; carefully remove cap to drain out. Reason why it doesn't drain is because there is a block in your pump (right side) which you must clear.
To keep your pump from probs (a tip which you seldom see) empty all pockets of clothes before putting into machine. I have a non electronic Philco which i dont remember cleaning with hotwash or anything, 10years +

For exteriors do not use solvents or steel wool. Only hot soapy water with a mild non-abrasive cleaning agent, dry with soft towel.

Above should be useful. Pl rate.............

SOURCE: which compartment does my detergent/fabric softener go in?

You can get all of Whirlpools user guides here:
http://www.whirlpool.co.uk/app.cnt/whr/en_GB/pageid/pgsrvifuhome001/ifu/home Generally the one one the left - is for pre-wash (if clothes really soiled), the middle one is for powder (if you use it) and the last one is for softener or bleach.
I just use liquitabs - which go directly into the drum, and fabric softender.

I just got a Samsung 4.5 cu. Ft hi-efficiency front load washer with self clean+in white . The book that came with It doesn't have pictures or much instructions.

This could be a Samsung WF45T6000AW washer. On this model (and most similar recent Samsung front-load washers), the dispenser drawer is to the left of the cycle selector dial. When you pull out the drawer, the compartment arrangement is: front left - liquid detergent, front right - liquid fabric softener. Liquid bleach goes into the back compartment. If you are using a powdered detergent, you have to remove the liquid detergent container. It just lifts out. Then put the powdered detergent in the front left- compartment.

I found the Use and Care manual on the product page, https://www.homedepot.com/p/Samsung-4-5-cu-ft-High-Efficiency-Front-Load-Washer-with-Self-Clean-in-White-WF45T6000AW/313846213 , at HomeDepot.com. The current link to this manual is https://images.thdstatic.com/catalog/pdfimages/1d/1d90b4de-ebaa-4d5f-a0cf-494bb1ffd212.pdf . The use of the detergent drawer is covered on pages 28-30. The description of the washer control panel starts on page 31. The cycle overview starts at page 35.

I hope this helps.

Kenmore HE 4t Elite Front Loader Washing Machine

Inside the dispenser drawer, at the bottom there is a tab that you can push down to remove the dispenser drawer. Remove the drawer and check if the dispenser holes are clogged, this is a common cause.

Bleach and Fabric Softner Dispenser

Hi
This is a result of the siphoning action and is part of the normal operation of the washer. Water
may be removed by removing the dispenser drawer and draining
water into the empty drum or sink.

Outside
• When washing is completed, wipe top and sides of washer with a damp cloth. Turn water
faucets off to prevent pressure build-up in the hoses.
• As needed, clean the cabinet with mild soap and water. Never use harsh, gritty or
abrasive cleansers. If door or console becomes stained, clean with diluted chlorine bleach
[1/2 cup (120 ml) in 1 quart (.95 L) water]. Rinse several times with clear water.
• Remove glue residue from tape or labels with a mixture of warm water and mild detergent.
Or, touch residue with the sticky side of the tape or label.
• Before moving the washer, place a strip of cardboard or thin fiberboard under the front
leveling legs to prevent floor damage.
Cleaning the Dispenser Drawer Area
Detergent and fabric softener may build up in the dispenser drawer. Residue should be removed
once or twice a month.
• Remove the drawer by pulling the drawer out until it stops. (Figure 1)
• Reach back into the left rear corner of the drawer cavity and press down firmly on the lock
tab (left rear portion of the drawer). Pull out the drawer. (Figure 2)
• Remove the insert from the bleach and fabric softener compartments. (Figure 3)
• Rinse the drawer and inserts with hot tap water to remove traces of accumulated powders
and liquids. Large amounts of fabric softener residue may indicate improper dilution or
more frequent cleaning is required.
• To clean the drawer opening, use a small brush to clean the recess. Remove all residue
from the upper and lower parts of the recess. (Figure 4)
• Replace the insert pressing the "X" to lock it in place. Return the dispenser drawer.
Inside
• Remove items from the washer as soon as the cycle ends. Excess wrinkling, color transfer,
and odors may develop in items left in the washer.
• Before cleaning the washer interior, unplug the electrical power cord to avoid electrical
shock hazards.
• Dry around the washer door opening, flexible gasket, and door glass. These areas should
always be clean to ensure a water tight seal.
• When extremely soiled items have been washed, a dirty residue may remain on the drum.
Remove this by wiping the drum with a nonabrasive household cleanser. Rinse thoroughly
with water.
• Periodically, wipe dry the bottom of the flexible gasket to remove lint and other debris.
• The plastic drum vanes may become stained from fabric dye. Clean these parts with a
nonabrasive household cleanser. This prevents dye transfer to future loads.

On my Electrolux Washer EIFLW55HIWO the water will not shut off. It keeps filling the tub. Thanks

It's possible that your pressure switch is bad. For that model it's Frigidaire OEM Part #134762010. It's about $40 on line.
This manufacturer-approved water level pressure switch (part number 134762010) is for washers.

Water level pressure switch 134762010 senses and controls the water level in the washer.

Unplug the washer and shut off the water supply before installing this part. Wear work gloves to protect your hands.

Water coming out of the detergent compartment

When you take out the drawer you can reach inside and at the front of that compartment there should be an opening where the water goes into. I have seen many times where something is blocking that opening. The only other thing would be something stuck in the hose that attaches to that opening and feeds water to the tub. It sounds impossible but I have pulled underwear and socks out of that hose several times. Best way to access that hose it to take the outer clamp off of the door boot and reach in there, disconnect the hose and pull it out. Getting the clamp back on can be a little tricky if you haven't done it before so it may be best to call for a technician. Hope this helps.
