Did you modify the pictures at all while using the SD card in your laptop? Even something as small as rotating the pictures so they are right-side up?

In the future, drag and drop all photos into a directory on your laptop to copy them and leave the ones on the SD card alone.

The computer uses a small program to be able to upload pictures from the memory card once the pictures are safely on the computer hard drive hopefully you created a file folder for them then the memory card needs to be formatted in the camera. Formatting the memory card cleans the card and makes it compatible to the camera again. Every time you download images to the computer the memory needs formatting in the camera. Any new memory card needs formatting in the camera a card that has been formatted in the computer needs to be reformatted in the camera. Also please be aware that there is a protection lock on the side of the SD card and if placed in the incorrect orientation will actually lock the card from formatting or deleting files on the card. I'm going to include a diagram here to show you where this little switch need to be for the "unlock" position.

Switch needs to be towards the top of the card in the direction of the gold contacts

How do I download images from my surveillance camera?

You say you have 'activated SD format'. This probably means you have formatted the SD card, thus erasing all the images from it. To download images in the future, remove the SD card from the camera and insert it in a USB card reader attached to your computer.

How do I upload pictures onto my Dell d600

If your photos are stored on a SD memory card then remove the SD memory card from the camera and insert the memory card into an USB memory card reader. Connect the USB memory card reader into the USB port of your Dell computer. The Dell wiil detect the card reader as an external storage device, you can then open the folder on the memory card that contains the photos and then copy them to your computer.

My Digital Camera Will not upload software

i think you are correct. Likely you are haveing a software compatibility issue. i am seeing this as a recurring problem. This problem is probably too complicated to solve here, so i will offer a work around: You may know this already, but you don't need the camera to upload photos. I rarely upload from my camera. You should be able to do so, but until you figure out the problem, remove the SD card and use a SD card reader. If your PC doesnt have a built in SD reader, get a USB version like the SanDisk MicroMate or get SD with a built-in USB plug(see attached photos for both. When connected to your PC, either will show up as a removeable drive on your PC from which you can copy the files onto your PC's harddrive: save the photos, back them up, then use the camera to format the SD card--this is the best way to clear/erase the card. Then try opening the photos. Using the camera to upload photos, in my opinion, should only be done when you do not have a way to read the SD card. This can be the begining of a productive workflow and part of the process for organizing and backing up photographs.

Canonpowershota460 wont upload photos to my laptop

There is a lot of incompatability between cameras and computers. The best way to get around it completely is get a card reader.Remove the SD card from the computer and insert into the card reader, then plug the card reader into the USB port. Try Picasa3 free software from Google to download images. Good luck. This always works.

My camera stopped uploading photos

If the camera still works OK otherwise -- you caN BYPASS THE PROBLEM with coimputer recognition simply by removing the SD card, and reading it directly. Most notebooks have a slot for plugging in an SD card. Otherwise -- there are some very cheap SD card readers (<$5.00) -- insert your card, plug into USB Port, then (on Windows) select "Open Windows Explorer" select and copy your digital images to your PC.

RAW images won't upload

Are you using the camera to upload the photos? I recommend that you get a SDHC reader(USB) and copy the files off of the SD card onto your harddrive. it is a common problem that RAW images cannot be read by windows or certain programs. Photoshop CS3 and later are able to read and open the RAW images from this camera if your "camera raw" portion of adobe is current. it is good practice anyway to load your photos directly from the SD card. I had a G9 since it first came out and now i have a G10--i have never even attempted to upload from the camera. don't let this discourage you from shooting RAW because it is the primary reason in my opinion for owning a G9 or G10. Let me know if this does not answer your problem...dj

Uploading pictures back onto my camera

Hey hapurves,
Uploading your images should not remove the images from your memory card. If your images are no longer on your memory card the card has most likely been formatted. You could try connecting the memory card to your laptop with a card reader and under My Computer right click on the icon for your memory card and select open. Now you could try copying the images you want back on the memory card and pasting them into a folder on the memory card. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan
