I have same problem. I don't seem to have Messaging Storage application and in my case it is nothing to do with roaming. Any help would be very welcome.

I had this happen recently. I was able to stop it by going into settings / applications / manage applications / running then selecting the Messaging Storage application and clearing data on that application. That stopped it but it starts again if you restart the OS. I think it may have someting to do with the data roaming alarm but I need to get back to a coverage area before I'll know.

Just got a Samsung g600, Under settingd I dont have 'sound settings' as with previous samsung fone. This means that I cannot assign a ring tone for text messages I cant find any way to do this. I also...

Hi, for anyone still having this problem with the newer Samsung phones, I just solved the issue I posted up earlier.

To disable keypad tones, but keep your ringtone etc active, go to Profiles -> edit your 'Normal' profile.
Press right on the selection pad twice to get to phone-related settings. Scroll down to the bottom of that page of settings to the 'Phone sound volume' option, select it and adjust it to zero.

This will turn off all keypad noises and other irritating beeps while not actually turning your phone on to 'silent mode', which would disable your ringtone etc.

Hope this helps, I know I was going insane with this phone until I figured out how to turn those sounds off.
