Hi,
I apologise in advance as you've probably done this already, however I have to start with the basics. There shouldn't be any HDMI compatibility issue here - both devices are HDMI enabled. However, it may be necessary to enable the HDMI output on the Roku box. Before I start telling you to change settings, please confirm you have done the following;
1. Connected the HDMI out socket on the Roku box to one of the HDMI inputs on the TV:
Sorry, posted prematurely, please ignore. Will post again in a minute.
I'll try again ;)
I apologise in advance as you've probably done this already, however I have to start with the basics. There shouldn't be any HDMI compatibility issue here - both devices are HDMI enabled. However, it may be necessary to enable the HDMI output on the Roku box. Before I start telling you to change settings, please confirm you have done the following;
1. Connected the HDMI out socket on the Roku box to one of the 2 HDMI inputs on the TV:
2. Switch the Roku box and the TV on.
3. Press the "INPUT" button on your JVC remote repeatedly until you get the signal from the Roku box . . .
- If you are using HDMI input "1" in the above picture the correct input is "DIGITAL IN1" - this will probably display as "STB" on your TV screen.
- If you are using HDMI input "2" in the above picture the correct input is "DIGITAL IN2" - this will probably display as "DVD" on your TV screen. Please note: there may be 2 inputs which are classed as "DVD".
I know this is all pretty basic stuff, but I have no way of knowing what you have or haven't done so far. I need to make sure the initial setup is correct before we start changing settings which don't need to be changed and could further complicate the problem.
Please confirm you have done all of the above and then post back for further assistance.
Happy New Year!

Thanks for the reply. I need to think about this for a short while - have you tried connecting any other HDMI devices to the JVC TV?
Will get back to you asap.

Hi,
You already (somewhat prematurely) rejected my assistance, but I guess I will give you the answer anyway. Your TV will not accept an HDMI signal from the Roku box. In the TV specifications on page 104 of your user manual you will note this:
HDMI jack x 2
Note: The Digital-In terminal is not compatible with picture signals of a personal computer.
The Roku box is effectively a PC. It is receiving digital media via the internet and streaming it to your TV in the same way as a standrd PC would.
The only way you will get this to work, is with a different type of cable. I would suggest component AV.
Regards,
