I really hate to be the "bearer of bad tidings" but Troy Bilt, as a company, in no longer in business, MTD bought out the name and design rights for a lot of their tools but they are not manufacturing or stocking any parts for the older GardenWay/ Troy-Bilt machinees. My best suggestion would be tostart looking for a good used one or one with a blown engine, broken frame or whatever, buy it and canibalize it for spare parts

As there is a model number on the chipper there should be a model number on the engine. You may have to stand on your head to find it but, it's there.

check with you local service center that handles tecumseh parts. I can get it thy should be Abel too. your new number is 36221

I have a Troy-Built Chipper/Vac Model 47279 (5HP) that has not been run in a while. I have drained the fuel and added new but it will not start. The old fuel did not have any fuel additive prior to storage...

i have the same Chipper, vac. Have you checked for spark? You may want to clean the fly wheel. I use emery cloth to clean the area at the magneto, If there is no spark, Also you may have to clean the carb. I have been looking for a manual for this model with no luck. Hope this helps!
