Dishwasher is not heating water and wont dry dishes.

I see that you have replaced the heating element inside of your Frigidaire dishwasher but the dishes are not drying and the water is not hot. You may want to check the water temperature going into the dishwasher and that can be tested by using the sink closest to the dishwasher. The water temperature needs to be 120 degrees, the hotter the water the hotter the dishes will become to assist with drying.

Also check to assure that the rinse aid has been filled that will help with the drying of the dishes. I hope this information has been helpful. -Matt

Heat dry will consume steam which is generated by heating the water inside the dishwasher. Air dry is natural but will take longer cycle time. Use rinse aid to improve air dryer and aviod water spots on glass.

Incoming Water
Most manufacturers recommend that the water coming into your dishwasher be at least 120 degrees Fahrenheit. If the water is too cold, then your dishes don't clean properly. Or the dishwasher must run longer to heat up the water. Test the water temperature by running the hot water on your faucet for about 2 minutes or until it gets really hot. Place a waterproof thermometer under the water. If the water is too cold, increase the water temperature setting on your water heater.

Thermostat
The thermostat is responsible for regulating the water and drying cycle temperature. If this thermostat isn't working, the heating element at the base of the dishwasher tub may not come on. Test this element by selecting the hottest temperature setting. Run the dishwasher on the shortest cycle. Let the dishwasher run for a few minutes, and open it up. If the dishwasher water is not hot or the drying cycle isn't starting, order a new thermostat from a parts dealer since this component is difficult to fix.


Heating Element/Drying Fan

The heating element heats up the water and air. Access this element by removing the bottom rack. It looks like a long black rod. If any part of this component is broken or corroded, you must order a new one. You usually cannot fix this element. The drying fan is located in the main housing of the dishwasher, and it blows air around your dishes to dry them. Check this part by disconnecting the dishwasher from the power supply and opening up the housing. Examine the fan, and see if any dirt or debris is preventing it from moving. Clean it. If the fan won't turn at all or if the motor is burnt out, order a new fan since it's difficult to repair this part.

Additional Concerns

If your dishwasher isn't drying your dishes properly, see if you have selected a heated drying cycle. An air drying cycle doesn't completely dry your dishes. Never overload the dishwasher, as this prevents heat from circulating around your dishes, keeping them from drying properly. Plastic and Teflon dishes don't usually completely dry. You must towel-dry these items.

But if your dishwasher is making strange sounds or is unusually loud, it's time to investigate. A thumping noise could be the drain line vibrating against the cabinet; a grinding noise could be caused by a popcorn kernel being stuck in the chopper blade area of the dishwasher.

Dishes typically dry by the end of the dishwashing cycle, with one exception-plastic items. Consult your owner's manual and select the cycle options that fit your needs and your energy usage goals. If your dishes don't get dry even though you've selected the heated drying option, then the heating element could be broken or the high-limit thermostat for the element may have tripped in error, preventing the element from heating. Heater is used to both heat water during clean cycle and dry dishes after wash cycle. Most washers have either a separate switch for Heat or Dry for optional use, or some have the water heat and dish dry options built into cycle set options.

You can save money by turning off the Dish Dry option since it is a very in-efficient way to dry dishes. Instead, open the wishwasher door after washing cycle completes, just enough so fresh air can get into, and humid air can escape, dishwasher.

Water Heat option is only needed for dried food on dishes, and is never needed if dishes are either rised off before putting them in the dishwasher, or rinsed off inside the dishwaser with a Rinse cycle, if they are to stand for a time waiting for a full dishwasher for wash.

Fist what detergent are you useing is it dishwasher detergent and second the dishes wet and stemy how long do you wait after the machine has completed the cycle before opening it
