SOURCE: monitor displays properly then screen goes blank
it seems tht the monitor has gone bad & needs to be replaced....try running a monitor self test by unplugging the monitor cable frm the back of the cmputer & make sure the monitor is receving power frm the wall outlet....chk if the monitor displays anything......let me knw if it wrks

I buy and sell these monitors (Dell E17FP) the problem is with the transisters (Q739, Q740, Q759, Q760) they short out and the monitor will just blink on and off. You have to desolder them and test them with a simple battery and light circuit. The reason they blow is because of the dirty solder joints by the transformers. If only on pair of backlights work the problem maybe transisters Q751, Q743. I home this answers your questions.

Thanks for the suggestion, I have finally found out that the back light for the monitor is culprit. Also dell people and confirmed it . They aggred for a replacement. Thanks for the suggestion again.

Press the Menu button on monitor,press the plus button ( + ) on the monitor til it comes to "factory settings" Press the monitor menu button again,press the plus ( + ) to go to "all settings. press the monitor menu button once more and it should fix your problem,it did mine.Power button fades from green to amber like before.
