I left my refrigerator cracked open all night. Everthing defrosted slightly not fully because i didn't see pools of water. it was like this for probably 12 hrs. The freezer light was blinking but the refrigerator stayed the same. I closed the door totally and the signal temp was blinking for about 10 minutes and was fine. do I need to do anything else. ? it does not seem that the compressor was broken.

SOURCE: Samsung RS2555SL humming noise

don't know this model specifically, but have had loads of problems with these samsung fridge-freezers. the no water in drinks dispensor is probably due to the water bottle at the bottom of the fridge being frozen. this is endemic with samsung the noise you hear is ice hitting fan. samsung use two systems for fan. the one i think you have is separate fans for fridge and freezer and a separate evaperator for fridge and freezer. take of the back plate of the fridge and you will find the fan mounted in it. disconnect the plug and socket connection. you will probably find ice build up round the fan blade. melt off with hot water. the bar you had showing on the "8" is a fault code - the most common fault being the defrost termination sensor. unless you are experienced, this is not really a diy appliance

SOURCE: Samsung RS2556SH Freezer left open. compressor does not come on.

if door was left open for some time, there may be excess ice build-up on the evaporator which may take more than 2 hours to clear. two methods to cure switch off and leave for 24 hours with doors open. or remove back panel in freezer and carefully melt ice off with a hairdryer

SOURCE: Samsung Refrigerator

I have a RS2544SL side by side Samsung with a defrost sensor failure light upon a plug-in reboot, according to the service manual, which I purchase from Samsung so that I could help a local service provider unsuccessfully fix the unit.

The unit was less than 3 years old when I started having problems. The freezer side works although the unit will not re-boot following a power outage because is hangs-up on the defrost sensor flashing light on the front display.

Samsung service providers have stopped working on Samsung refrigerators and Samsung would not suppor the repair.
I had an independent service provider install a new defrost sensor but the reboot-pluging program still hangs-up at the defrost sensor despite a newly installe defrost sensor from Samsung.

The freezer side continues to work well and problems continue with the refrigerator side. The unit continues to fail during power-outages because it hangs-up on the warning light. I by-pass by holding both power freeze and power refrigerator buttons for 10 second as described in the service manual. After by-passing the warning light, the performance of the refrigeration side continues to be unreliable.

What is my next step to get my relatively new Samsung side-by-side refrigerator fixed, since Samsung will not back their warranty and Costco where I bought the unit also will not backup the warranty and purchase.

SOURCE: Freezer part doesn't freeze door was part open for hours

the coil inside of the freezer is probebly still frozen up with ice. Take a shop vac and open the freezer side after shutting the unit off and blow the air from the shop vac into the vents that are on the back side of the freezer until you can feel good air flow out of the very bottom of the freeezer. You can contact me and I will assist you if you need more help.

SOURCE: Samsung refrigerator - frost on outside of freezer drawers

try checking the freezer door seal.
if slight gap anywhere around the door seal drawer fronts will frost up.
warm seal up with hair dryer and ease seal out with your hands..
problem often happens with door reversal.

Our freezer was left open over night, and now the entire refridgerator isn't working

try unplugging it for a day a so to let the evaporator coil defrost. When left open for long periods the evaporator coil will build too much ice blocking air flow. You might have apuddle of water under the fridge after the melt.

Why is my whirl pool frig leaking onto the floor and how can i fix it

Frost buildup inside the **** tube that leads from the evaporator coil to the bottom for defrost condensate tray is plugged. Try giving the unit a manual defrost by unplugging and leaving the doors open all night 12 hours. If the problem comes back you may have to take the cover off the evaporator coil and use a turkey baster to force warm water to flush out the tube.

Water and ice dispenser leaking water

Just saw your post, sorry no one answered you. If the ice maker is leaking it has a crack or the dual water control valve is stuck open slightly. Most times it is the defrost drain behind the back panel and at bottom of the evaporator coil. Some drains freeze shut and some become blocked as the make the turns leaving the refrigerator. If you would like more information and photo help please let me know, Thanks, Sea Breeze
