The microwave displays F-6 and won't stop unless it's unplugged. Needless to say, it can't be used.

My GeE Profile model #PEB1590SM2SS microwave isn’t working. The turntable spins when the door is open, but it won’t spin or heat anything up during operation.

First, I'm not a GE tech
* STOP!
* Door opened should turn off all power except the display. This is a safety measure,
* Unplug and DO NOT use!
* Check warranty. Call for service.
* Check with store or vendor for replacement.

When I open microwave oven door . close the door again light comes on an plate spins an wont stop unless I unplug it

Inside the door latch, is a safety feature, that prevents the microwave from operating unless the door is closed. This feature can easily become faulty, or even come with the fault already causing the microwave to constantly operate whenever the door is closed.

Microwaves can be very dangerous in regard to holding HEAPS of voltage within the unit. I recommend getting yourself a new microwave, as attempting repairs on any of the modern units can, more often than not, be far more costly then the price of a new one.

Hope this helps.

Samsung microwave malfunction

I too have this problem with my KitchenAid KHHS179LSS-5 model. Based on the owner's manual I located behind the grill which pulled off, the F7 Error code indicates that power to the magnetron was interrupted. You will want to make the following checks: 1. Unplug microwave oven or disconnect power. 2. After 40 seconds, check to see whether this solves the problem. 3. Unplug microwave oven or disconnect power. 4. Check resistance of the magnetron thermostat. 5. Check the magnetron. 6. Check wiring to the 1100W inverter and control system. See "Checking Inverters." 7. Plug in microwave oven or reconnect power. 8. Check operation of all interlock switches. Check door, hinge and cavity front alignment. Adjust as needed. 9. Unplug microwave oven or disconnect power. 10. If switches operate correctly, replace 1100W inverter. 11. If problem persists, replace electronic control. 12. Plug in microwave oven or reconnect power.

After removing the control display, there is a virtual zoo of connectors. So unless you repair microwaves on a regular basis, it may be difficult to ascertain which ones go to the magnetron thermostat. I will probably resport to shelling out the dough to get someone to fix it. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

I have LG lmhm2017st microwave and some times the buttons won't work but now it inputs 11:11 start all by it self over and over again . If I leave it unplugged for a few minutes it will start to work...

If you have warranty use it asp, from the description the problem is in the keypad "membrane shorting" or the microprocessor control board is becoming intermittent, it will get to the point and stop functioning.

Oven won't shut off

One of the door switches is defective, caused by a build up of food particles or normal ware, to correct this a professional will need to identify the problem and replace it.

My microwave is possessed!

You have a shorting membrane keypad.

If and when an oven is coming on or doing anything by itself, this is very dangerous and can result in a fire.

So until it is repaired, please leave it unplugged or leave the door open when it's not in use, and please do not leave it running unattended.

FixYa's Web site is currently not notifying us when replies to our Clarification Requests are posted, so please reply directly to me with your full number from the tag on the unit and your oven's color so I can help you with free do-it-yourself tips and/or an estimate.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

GE Microwave-Touch pad/controls fail unless you hit side of oven

I can only toss you some ideas, but likely but not always, you might have what are called security screws holding the cover on the microwave - they typically have a little pin in the center and you need to buy a special tip to remove the screws including any on the side - then pull and slide the cover off the microwave - Needless to say with the power unplugged!
Then you should take a close look even with a magnifying glass, at any of your connections - many are spade connectors pushed onto flat blade-like pins - you may find that you have an over-heated one, or a loose one. If it is overheated, you will have to cut off the bad connector, get a new one wherever, strip the wire(s) back and crimp on the new one. If the connector is simply loose, take a pair of needle nose pliers and close up the connector so that it goes back on tightly.
Now this is where you need to (sorry to swear), but use common sense - plug in your microwave with the cover off, and try you touchpad to test whatever repair you did - If it is fixed, then unplug and put the cover back on and back to Zip-Zap and Ding Suppers

Chefmate microwave oven won't start, only flashes numbers.

Well I had the same problem. It made me start unplugging a microwave when it wasn't in use, which is always a plus.
When it does the whole 6666 thing, press 5 and then stop/reset. It usually allows me to input what I want after that.
Good luck people.

Satanic microwave

Dude, that totally happened to my boyfriend and me! He woke up in the middle of the night to the beeping and went downstairs to check it out. It was like 3am and the microwave started displaying all 6's. Then a helicopter flew right over our apartment and he started really flipping out. Talk about scary.
